Hi mate, don't get a taxi all the way it will be way too expensive. If you really have to I'd say book one - it'll be a lot cheaper and you can find out the price when you ring them. Otherwise it can be done on the tube with one change and very quickly. You want to get the tube from Kings Cross to Victoria train station via the Victoria line. At that point switch to the District line and go to Putney Bridge. If I remember correctly you're looking at about 20minutes plus any time spent on the platforms. It's easy, minimum fuss, cheap and quick. On the way back you can do the same (NoTE the victoria line is closed on Sunday for anyone stopping over) but as Overseas says you can make the 15 minute walk up Putney High Street where there is a train station. There is also East Puntey tube another two minutes on from there which, if you want to take the tube route, gives you the advantage of getting the tube before most of the fans get on at Putney Bridge which will guarentee you a seat for your back when the tubes will be full, though whether walking 15 minutes to have a seat on the tube for 10 is worth it is for you to decide :D

    EDIT

This is the way I'm sure everyone would have sent you if you hadn't said the District line was closed between Earls Court and Aldergate in your opening post. It is, but only on Sunday. So go the way I've put <ok>

I'll probably pitch up about 1 o'clock and see what's happening. Maybe I should wear a mask of my avatar.

My advice would be if there are that many line disruptions is to get the northern line to kennignton and change for waterloo then get the windsor and eton train to putney it's a little walk from there. You could then hop a taxi back to putney station with relative ease i live in twickenham so i usually get the train straight to putney.
    Anyway here's to 3 points!

Aye, but because of Sunderland fans smashing windows and abusing people on a train back from West Ham a few years ago, police now put dry trains on when they feel like it, meaning no alcohol. No notices of one on Saturday though so a piss up will be scheduled for the way home as well as on the way down.

Q: How do you know when someone has an Apple product?
