Disagree. We cannot feed the population we have from the available agricultural land therefore we are over-populated.

you are entitled to disagree, however you are factually incorrect.

The starving in the world are not starving due to the inability to grow foodstuff. In fact some of the so called starving countries are the main importers of certain foodstuffs. They can grow for import but dont feed their own

Also in this country farmers were/are given subsidies to NOT grow certain crops etc as it keeps food prices at ceertain levels

I forget what the figures are exactly but it is a fact that warehouses full of food stuff are destroyed annually for profit, if this foodstuff was allowed to be marketed it would eradicate poverty

Wheat (as staple food stock) has been genetically modified to grow in virtually any environment, and if you think yeah but thtas GM, over 90% of the wheat grown in India is GM. The man who 'invented' it is credited with saving the lives of billions ( Iforget his name)

No, it would alleviate hunger and malnutrition (where it exists) in the short term, in the longer term it would, more-as-likely exacerbate poverty

The globe has always been volatile, ice ages, interglacials etc, but that's not to say that man has had no part in global warming. To believe so, is just ignorance.

The planet is far from over crowded. If the whole world lived in a city with the population density of Paris the 7 billion people would fit in France, leaving Africa to be turned in to a solar power station and the rest of the planet to be farmed for food.

As for global warming, there are more people now than there ever has been. If every person generates heat then surely less people means less heat generation which in turn means less global warming.

First of all, it's not just the space that each human being takes up. Seven billion people might fit into France but would you want to live in a house the size of a small garden shed?

As for your second point <laugh>

I didn't say it would be nice. It's just an example. Also in UK we have the smalles houses in Europe so it will probably be an improvement for many.

If we are to find a soloution for global warming we need to think laterally.

I know it is. Most of the 'experts' on here seem to think otherwise.

The planet warms up and cools down over the centuries, that it is presently getting warmer is not in dispute. What is in dispute is that man has caused the warming and/or that it is a problem.

There is plenty of evidence to show that man is contributing to global warming. All you have to do is measure the amount of carbon dioxide, methane and other greenhous gases in the atmosphere since the industrial revolution.

This whole global warming is natural is a smokescreen put forward by American energy companies so they can go on polluting and lining their pockets.

What we're looking at here is not natural nor is it caused by sun spots or volcanoes or aliens visitng from Pluto or whatever other ****e put forward by people who will blame anything but themselves.
