You'd have to pay an absolute bomb to go by train now.

****, hope I'm not leaving that early!

I'm sure we get to Kings X at about 11-12 so could well be on the same train.

Edit: Having said that, I've checked and there's a Toon - Kings X train every 30 mins or so.

Leazes, just get Piccadilly line from King's Cross to Earl's Court then District from Earl's Court down to Putney, will be the quickest route. And certainly don't get a taxi back from Putney to King's Cross after the match, it'll cost more than your match & train ticket combined and will take about a day & a half. You're literally trying to get from one side of London to the other. The tube's the best option.
Got to speak to Ameobi's Zeppelin & Pardew's Note Book to find out where we're meeting up before the game today actually. Good reminder. <ok>

Norwich v Chelsea. Only take me 45 minutes to get to Kings Cross from mine so I'm happy to meet anywhere. I'll text AZ a bit later.

Take the Hammersmith and City Line (the pink one) towards Hammersmith (heading west).

Change at Paddington or Edgeware Road for the District Line (the green one) towards Wimbledon and get off at Putney Bridge so it's just a walk through the park towards the ground.

The tube will be far less crowded so you can protect your back on the way there.

Heading back, Putney Bridge is a bottle neck and can take an age to get on a tube so I'd recommend crossing the bridge towargs Putney rail station (5 mins from Putney Bridge tube) and heading on a train towards Waterloo. From there, change onto the Northern Line and get off at Euston and walk the 3 minutes to Kings Cross.

Far quicker and cheaper than a taxi from Fulham.

I'm staying in Gunnersbury for the weekend so I'll be heading to Earl's Court and then on to Putney Bridge.

Is there going to be a bit of a meet up? I remember all the pubs around the tube stops were packed about two hours before kick off last season but I'm game to go to anywhere vaguely near the ground.

OT you coming for a meet up? What was that pub we met at last time?

And I can get 6 people for a taxi, wouldn't be that expensive surely? How long would it take?

Can only take 5 in a normal black cab. Will be cheaper and quicker on the tube mate, you'll have to take a cab all through the West End as shops are starting to shut, it'll be chaos.

I'm off to France in a few days to partake in a skill called 'Don't break a leg' or skiing as some call it so won't be there for the Fulham match.

The pubs we went to last time were The Temperance and The 8 Bells

Pubs near Putney Bridge Tube Station

It would take an eternity to be honest. Took a cab recently on a Tuesday night at 10pm from Fulham to Kings Cross/St. Pancras and even though traffic was light it was close to 35 minutes.

Saturday at peak times will take over an hour.

Fair enough. Not looking forward to the walk. Might have to leave early.

I hate getting the 6 o clock train back, but the lad who always arranges it bookes the first possible train home, he hates hanging round London whereas I wouldn't mind waiting till 7. He does a lot of arranging for us, tickets, travel etc... So no one says anything lol.

    Fair enough.

Do people fancy meeting at the 8 bells? We get in about 11:30 so if we are meeting up I might just go straight over to Fulham? The 8 bells is just outside the tube station.

You have to get to the 8 Bells early as it's small and fills up very quickly and then they operate the one in-one out scheme and you can't even drink outside to avoid the crush.

Cab will probably cost £50+ from Fulham to Kings X as well.

I think we're going to meet south side of Putney Bridge and walk over before kick off, AZ reckons the pubs won't be as busy, still not too far to walk either.
