Good to have the regional programme back. Bet Bart loves being in the opening sequence for the wrong reason. Extended highlights of Saints v Leicester next week..let's hope we want to see them. Portsmouth got buyer at contract stage...on a knife edge apparently as the January wage bill due.
Enjoyed it. Not enough about Saints, but then that would be an obvious observation, from a Saints supporter. Looking forward to some bits and pieces that don't make the headlines, but are nevertheless interesting - which is what LKO has been very good at. The Lads were good, and presenter James Richardson didn't annoy me quite as much as the first programme last season. One last thing - that old League Championship trophy. Isn't it pretty..? That's the trophy the best teams should still be playing for, not that bucket and crown they use for the PL. No style at all.
They also mentioned that the footballing authorities are considering the banning of loans, probably because of the Doncaster experiment. How could smaller clubs cope without the chance of getting loans in? Never mind losing the chance to give players experience and match time.
Yeah. It almost seems that there is a considered attempt, going around, to cut down the amount of professional clubs in the UK league, that are capable of being competitive. What does that kind of a proposal serve..? Grahame Murty very quickly highlighted enough downside to kick it into touch.
Not certain, but I think on iplayer there is the opportunity to change regions. Used to work for local news programmes.
It's a pointless programme really. I like Murty and Rosenior, they're good pundits, but I don't know why the BBC don't just scrap it and then they'd have some money that they could put towards keeping the Football League Show going next season. I'll keep watching it because it's a football show, though.
Oh for pete's sake..! There's been quite a few people around here bemoaning the fact that we believed LKO wasn't coming back, because of the budget cuts at the BBC, and then we all cheered that it was returning. And now you say it's a pointless programme. Brilliant. EDIT: There are people out here like me who wouldn't touch SKY/ITV/whatever, if they were handed £100 a month and a free subscription. For those of us who like to see the news about the local teams, LKO is an excellent way to receive it. I don't want to see wall-to-wall coverage of the Premier League just so that I can catch 30 seconds of Saints. I like the concept of the local area covering local football. LKO is anything but pointless.
Was it just me or the more I saw the Championship Trophy the more I kept imagining Rickie holdibg it aloft?.
Is Graeme Murty still at Staplewood recuperating and doing coaching badges? I do think him and Leroy Rosenior are very good, although that James Richardson bloke is annoying.
I will settle down to watch it with a pie and flagon of ale the evening (iplayer has all region's shows on it, just search Late Kick Off)
If you want to see it in great quality on your TV but don't want to pay a penny to Sky, freesat has all the local pros too.
I've just had a look on iPlayer and it seems the same programme covers the South, West, and South West regions so that's fine! I didn't watch it on Monday because I assumed there would be nothing about Saints.
