We are all waiting for new signings with the water on our tongue ,but is all we need? I think no. maybe more important thing is ,that sparky can make our team play like proper TEAM and not like bunch different skill-level individuals. Look what Norwich and Swansea are doin. Of course we need two or three skilful players but only that won't help. With that we need some stability with our line-ups. NW mixed his line-ups the way nobody ever understand (well some lineups were have to build up by injuries) We are not on a situation that we could use rotation system with full power ,and for that we have to stick the best we have. After we get few good signings (i hope) we have to build the team center of six or seven most important players. Those players have to be commited to play for QPR. The rest of other players have fight for their place in the team so they stay hungry for playing time. After that we could say that we have a TEAM. There havent been a TEAM with blue and white hoops (or mango/White and red) this season. Maybe some say because briatore/ecclestone and some say for injuries but still...........Now its time to have and hope sparky sort that thing.
Oh come now, be kind...... I'm sure you've played that computer game "Football Manager" before - you know the one - you get your players and it shows the percentage at which they can play...... think of it that way. You have certain players available at certain times and yet they may not be 100%..... and at other times you field the best of the best you've got and you're just out-paced, out-gunned, out-manoeuvred... that's all. We've been very close. I have faith that we'll get some good signings and that also helps to spur on the rest of the squad as they do not want to lose their regular places so that should lift up their games. The next 3 weeks is a crucial period, and I will be on the edge of my seat.
Totally agree Igor! We need to come away from relying on individual performances and focus on building the components of a team capable of handling most situations. Norwich and Swans have done well at this and benefitted from it. Hughes is team oriented and players he's worked with have shown interest in regrouping. We've already got Barton, SWP and Gabbi with Chris Samba possibly in the pipeline... Interesting (if nervy) times!
Good call Igor, it is indeed about the team. I look forward to the day when I can walk away from a match, and think to myself that we played really well and where everyone had a good performance, without picking out individuals. Good or bad. Hopefully tonight then
Having said all that ,i must admit that makin the bunch of individuals to play like a TEAM takes a time. Now we can see what sparky is really made of.......
