Well i for one is sad at this outcome...myself and the wife are friends with one of darlos players (liam Hatch) thankfully he and another player were taken on by gateshead....sad times for the players who are now out of work and the fans....
No, i'd probably quite enjoy it being ex Salisbury. If it doesn't effect me I don't care. Even when Salisbury got demoted after Nev's financial troubles. I wasn't that bothered.
Do you come on here to deliberately say the opposite of whatever is right, fair or sensible because your that sad you crave a reaction? Why are you not banned yet you are like the Jason puncheon of the NOT 606 Southampton board!!!
my sympathies lie with their staff and their fans. The Board of directors go into any business venture with their eyes open and make the decisions. If they lose money, so be it, after all they make the money when they sell. My sympathies also to JoeyB - to go through life without a care in the world for others must make for a very lonely existence.
Come on guys and gals every one is entitled to an opinion. I agree Joey's opinion at times makes you wander as to what makes the guy tick. However he is entitled to that opinion and to air his views no matter how outlandish. Whether he is saying the things he does just to be controversial and get a response is anyone's guess. I will always defend his right to do so as long as he does not get personal.......
As for Darlington.......you have to feel for the fans.......Not sure what the board were hoping for building the new stadium for such a small fans base, but hey what do I know........It doesn't look too good though for them does it?
I agree, everyone has the right to voice their opinion. Likewise, everyone should have the right to voice their opinion of someone else's opinion.
The problem is that no amount of club failures will make the people who matter care: the ones who hold the purse-strings. Most aren't fans, and most aren't in it for the long haul; if their mismanagement leads a club out of business, it's unfortunate, but life goes on, and they certainly aren't about to take their cues from the failure of others. The biggest culprits are the FA and FL, who really ought to be taking more responsibility; they should by rights be the balancing force between the money men and the clubs, but instead they cover their eyes and hope for the best.
This is my opinion, I am not seeking a reaction. In my line of work you can't get emotional about things like this.
I do agree with you CBK, Schad and others, but I also wonder what simple steps the FA would be able to take that can prevent this kind of thing from happening. In other words how do you encourage the Liebherr's of this world while filtering out the Antonov's? I'm definitely not an expert in ownership, finance etc but there can't be an easy answer.
