Leeds have offered 15 year old stiker Rory Hale a contract. the cliftonville forward can not sign till the summer.

Apparently whilst he was playing for Norwich he went out on a Saturday got rat arsed, he woke up sunday morning thinking he had missed training so jumped in car sped off n crashed when police interviewed him (he was in his underpants) he told them I was off to training.... they didn't have training!

    Pretty good CV

Pattinson is way past his best, but looks like Grayson's hands are tied money wise. He played at Right Back a lot...but he is slow and can't pass, and returned to South Africa when no clubs wanted him here. Can't believe we are considering signing him, will not add anything to our first team or squad. Desperate!!!

He can't even get into his South African club...I don't like to judge players I haven't seen but this seems desperate.

I remember him at Newcastle and he had promise.

I doubt he will make it but personally I am never against signing ginger midfielders, I don't know if its the bullying they get as kids, but they are never afraid to get stuck in.

If we are trialing players like this does it mean the pot has run dry..

no, how many players have we trialed over the last 6 months. And how many have actually been signed, I dont even think trialists are worth knowing about now, it so often becomes nothing and if we were going to sign them we'd hear about it

I wouldn't look into it to be honest

With that philosophy, we'd never have signed Becchio or players like Lees who trialled before coming into our academy from other areas of England. Under Bates, trialists have to pay their own way, and even if they didn't, it hardly takes up vast amounts of time or money that we should be spending elsewhere. Keep doing it is my opinion. You might unearth a gem which is far more valuable than minor time/money loss.

You've misunderstood what i was saying

Im not saying we wont sign them, and im certainly not saying dont use the option of trialling players. Im just saying as a fan, it does not mean much to me who we are trialling because it really means nothing until we sign them.

Fair dos, I thought you meant 'scrap trialling players' when you said "I wouldn't look into it to be honest". <ok>

The first player mentioned can't sign for us until June 2013, so it's hardly worth discussing now. The second from South Africa looks like the typical combative midfielder we take on trial (remember Michael Stewart this summer?) so I don't hold much hope for that. Two non-stories really. Certainly not ones that get the pulse racing, but you never know, they might turn out to be superstars.
