I wonder if Redknapp might have actually been to that game to look at someone else?
All of the focus seems to have been on Remy, but there were other players there to consider.

PNP, I read a report that there was a midfielder he was looking at aswell, but I can't remember where I saw it. The report suggested the player would be competition for Lennon. Cant remember who it was for the life of me though.

SSN have been saying this morning that Steve kean has come out and said that samba is not for sale.

Latest breaking news: He's just handed in a transfer request. I feel this could be our first signing fella's.

    Eden Hazard of Lille, SpursRoo?
He's been linked with a lot of big clubs.
Tricky, skilful and a lot of flair.
Can't see it, as it'd be a big coup.

    No it wasn't hazard mate, that's a name I wouldn't have forgotten.if only, eh?

I've been saying it for about a year, but I'd love us to push for Marko Marin. Skillful, pacey, dangerous and can play anywhere across the midfield.only seen him half a dozen times, but every time he's looked really threatening and would very much suit us.

Gotta say, Nathan dyer of Swansea looked impressive yesterday...

There's a couple of Marseilles midfielders we've been linked to lately: Burkina Faso international Charles Kabore (whose the latest "new Makalele"), whilst Mathieu Valbuena is a winger/playmaker who is quick, can keep the ball, and has a high work rate.

Dyer's another product of the Southampton academy.
They're doing something right down there, aren't they?

I'm a fan of Marin, too.
He'd suit our game down to the ground.
Been injured for most of this season, but he'd probably demand a place in the first XI of any side that he joined and I'm not sure who he'd displace in our side.
If we finish in the top 4, then I'd love to see him brought in as competition for our midfield spots and to add depth.

Please tell me you're not talking about Joe Cole, SR! <laugh>

If Modric was to leave in the summer then Marin would be the ideal replacement!

Nathan Dyer and Stéphane Sessègnon were both impressive this weekend!

    Not sure about that, Superal.
I know what you mean, as they both have similarities, but Marin's more attacking and less creative, from what I've seen of him.
He'd be great competition and back-up for Bale and van der Vaart, in my opinion.

HBIC, cheers! It was valbuena I was thinking of! Do we know much about him? That's who the reports were suggesting could be cover/competition for Lennon.

PNP I didn't realise dyer was a product of saints, but that does explain alot. I personally think he's looking pretty useful.

Marin for me would be ideal. He would provide competition for Lennon (probably replace lennon to be fair) and he can cover bale too. He's pretty versatile - to me he's a much better option than hoilett. Although hoilett is a good player, we're trying to progress further. The names have got to get better and better. on the downside, Marin isn't proven in the prem but has been labelled in Germany as a "messi" like player. -That can't be a bad thing!!

Only issue with him would be cost. And to be fair, I dont think we've had any interest in the guy for about a year now.

Valbuena is also saying he won't be leaving in January. Not surprising, given they're in the knock-out stages of the Champion's League - but highly inconvenient that they're loyal to their clubs (six months in the Premier League would beat that out of 'em...)

As for Valbuena as a player, on paper he looks like an upgrade on GDS, so possibly cover for Bale, Lennon and VDV.

And he's gone on loan to Southampton.
    Excellent.
Looks pretty talented and they're leading the way on youth development at the moment, plus I'd like to see them do well this season, for some reason... <whistle>

Think that is a very good place to learn the pace of the English game. Southampton seems to be the place for wingers.

Bit of an odd one but it's always good to have a creative player. Front page has been updated accordingly - anyone know the fee involved?

Where have u read this perryman?

This is more like it. If we're going to spend the cash, let's at least gets a big powerful striker. Also, Llorentes first touch is second go none. This is exactly what we need in order to hold the ball up.

IMO, remy isnt tall or strong enough.
