Or not? What do we think? Alex - If a fees agreed and its down to personal terms then by Christ we should be able to tie him up before the weekend Samba - Can't see it myself. PSG or bottom 3 in the Prem? Either way a long shot for the Wigan game Onouha - Seems to have gone quiet since bid was knocked back Bridge - Ditto Onouha Henrique - I have no idea whether we're in / out or shaking it all about with this lad Defoe - Nailed on (allegedly) but cannot sign until Thursday.....any Thursday.....in the next 10 years..... Zamora - A Warnock target and now ulikely due to the Hughes / Al Fayed personal dispute? AJ - See Zamora?? Rouquefort Santa Cruz - Sneaking suspicion Hughes has been working on this one Anyone else? If the liklihood is just Alex at best and Barton back thats something to tighten us up and give some bite but it still worries me about lack of a Mark Falco character up front. Macheda for me will struggle to hit the target at all at this rate. Any other hopefuls we know about other than tabloid tattle? Come on City we need your help
Onouha isn't allowed to leave until Kompany's suspension is over, which is around the 25th, that's why that has gone quiet. I agree with all the other ones although the one that isn't there which has surprised me with lack of coverage is this Bobby Zamora link? Where has that gone to?
Roque Santa Cruz seems to be a possibility too. According to my son, the Brazilian lad is flying over now (I have no idea where he gets his info from). And Oslo has posted re Blackburn's N'Zonzi, who has never registered on my radar. It's all gossip and conjecture, if we can get one in this week (in addition, if it happens, to Henrique, who may not go straight into the team) and a couple more before deadline, that would be my maximum expectation.
As each day passes I feel less confident about new signings. MH seems to be in no real hurry - maybe it's a good thing?! He can see some potential in our squad? I guess that's the difference. Warnock was yelling out for reinforcements because he had no f'in idea what to do with the current team whereas MH is keeping his cards very close to his chest. Only signing the right players at the right price isn't really what I want to hear.
Agree. As much as I understand the business sense in trying to get the right price, I'm beginning to get the impression now that we're half way through the window that the right player at any price is perhaps more pragmatic in terms of ensuring our Premier League survival. Wigan is a huge game, after we gifted them 3 points earlier in the season due to the goons faffing about with selling the club meaning we didn't have a proper PL team out, we really need to win on Saturday, and by a decent margin to start doing something about our goal difference. To do this we need quality, and lots of it, and quickly. The only problem is trying to lure the right players to the club in the first place...
Still early days chaps! The difficulty is keeping the lid on the real targets and getting on with sealing the deal. We are showing our hand early, which is alerting other clubs here and abroad, so players agents are looking around to see if there are other suitors prepared to 'up-the-anti'. Going to be a long couple of weeks!!
Yes I hear all that but Wigan is our 'Cup Final' and whilst I'm not advocating wholesale change I think Alex, Barton back and a hungry striker might make all the difference?
The frustrating thing is that our defence was first class for most of yesterday's game and yet we seem far closer to signing more defenders than we do a striker which is where our need is most desperate of course. Hughes may need to consider shuffling the pack he already has in that respect as we surely can't risk letting another game go by with Bothroyd as centre forward. If nothing changes this week I might even be tempted to go 4-3-3 at home with HH, DJ and Macheda.
I do not understand why teans that pay these guys wages and are possibly struggling have to let players go to these 2 bob tournaments, I mean If I asked my firm if I could go to another firm and do the same work I'd be told where to go, these 2 over paid prats knew we are in the mire but they still Swan off, ****ing joke
It's a FIFA requirement that we release them for internationals unless injured. And when you sign African players you run the risk of them disappearing for a month every two years (why they have this tournament so often is another question entirely.....) I would be delighted if the big European clubs told FIFA where to stick it, but don't think QPR will have much influence.
When is morooccos first match? And if he's not named in the first match he would wait for 2nd match....`?
