I find it sad that sky/the media now starting to call it the SDA, seems all the talk they originally came out about refusing to change was bullshit.

 

Sky's reporter on the live commentary on their android app called it SJP

 

Sky are the first commentary I've heard start calling it that, I don't think ESPN or the international matchday crews have yet thankfully.

To be fair though it was only Jeff Stelling that said he would refuse to call it by that name, he has stuck to his guns. The BBC and Sky Sports will want to keep relations with the club good to get the best possible info.

Mikes doing alright out of this name change, I am sure he thinks its a real shame they haven't managed to find this elusive buyer for the naming rights..............

I actually think Sky have been better than most for it, certainly the BBC where Lineker, Lawro etc love to make a little joke each and every week. Obviously I'm not seeing the home games on TV which I guess is where its mainly mentioned, but the majority of Sky pundits seem to avoid saying SDA as much as possible.

 

All the boards still say @ st. James' park anyway...

But yeah, it's mint to see players who have only just joined calling it SJP.

It gives you a few million extra to play with when the financial fair play rules come into effect as well. Mike Ashley gets a rough ride with you geordies, tbh you should take a look at Leeds, cos that could quite easily been you. I remember when you bought Demba Ba and most of you were complaining that he was no substitute for Andy Carroll, I laughed, I've not really had much respect for geordie's footballing opinions since tbh, you only had to watch his performances for WHU for 30seconds to see he was a class above.

Sure it didn't just pinch your pride that he moved to a better team and the fans were unsure of him as they hadn't heard much?

 

Lineker mostly calls it "the stadium formerly known as SJP" or just adds "..or SJP to you and me" after SDA. Generally people try to refer to it as SJP but I understand if they HAVE to call it SDA..

 

what, don't you have TV's in Newcastle? At leastthe Hammers had an excuse for not knowing much about him, as he played in Germany first, but Newcastle have no excuse as he scored 7 goals in 11 games in the EPL for a team that couldn't score for **** before he arrived. I guess you were all too busy watching your 'better' team in the championship last season to be bothered to watch the premier. I knew he'd leave West Ham for a better club, but sorry to rain on your parade but NUFC ain't my idea of a better club, you're a shop window, like we were, for a team playing in the champions league.

I don't know who was saying Ba was no good, don't remember many on here saying that. I like to take heart in the fact we paid you nothing for him, thanks for that
