    ....AND THEN THERE WERE NINE

We were all destroyed this week by the Blackburn fans who boycotted their game with Fulham. Their attendance of just 18,003 was well below evey-one’s prediction. All of us entered a score of 20,000+. The only benefactors were Colin5164, Penshawdave, Richisonthe bus33 and Wooperts_duck, courtesy of the fact that the respective players below them didn’t play their jokers for this fixture. This meant that their scores for this game were only doubled, while the rest of us had them quadrupled. This is the main cause of Singing Blue 3’s departure this week. Going into the round with a slender 22,216 to his name, he picked up 18,616 on this fixture alone. Colin5164, believe it or not, posted the highest attendance for this fixture, but luckily for him, devonFRATTONiser failed to play his joker against it. Had he done so it would have cost him another 9,219 points!

Wooperts_duck registered the best score of the week, with 11,430. He remains in 8th spot but has closed the gap on Ruperts_hockey_pal.

Barring a miracle, I am the Herminator will be registering his final entry for this round in the coming week, having seen his total fall to just 5,580, thanks again to the Blackburn attendance.

There are just two changes in position this week: Penshawdave overtakes devonFRATTONiser into 2nd and pompeymeowth overtakes Channonfodder into 5th.

    Fixtures for 21 January:

    QPR v Wigan
    Leeds v Ipswich
    Sheffield Wed v Hartlepool
    Shrewsbury v Southend
    Grimsby v Bath City

    Here is the new table:

Did you go out to a pub for Sunday lunch today? Did you have a couple of pints whilst you were there?

If you listen carefully, you can hear that beer talking! <laugh>

Judging by this weeks entry, pretty reckless! If it's not a personal question (which, of course, it is) what made you stop drinking? I'm guessing it wasn't watching Pompey as that would likely have quite the opposite effect! I don't drink in January as it goes but I really make up for it the rest of the year!

I've been picked, like Murali's wrong un'.

CF, Southampton stopped my alcoholic revelries. The 2-1 cup defeat of Pompey, in 2005?, was the last time I partook.

I was there, and I also had a drink that day. Was that a handball in the area, or was it a shoulder? Well the ref thought it was handball so that's good enough for me! Mind you, I have more to feel unhappy about that season than you did!

Actually CF, it was the linesman, who Southampton had complained bitterly about, due to previous alleged mistakes, who gave it. I can still see him holding his flag to his chest to signify to the ref that it was a penalty. After that, it was suddenly 4.30 in the morning and all was not well.

Yes, you right! The lino dunit. So are you now tea-total? If that is so, the chain of events from drinking to total sobriety started with a man wearing black sports gear waving a flag. Funny old world!
