Funny, could've sworn it was falling flat on your arse and crying like a baby when all you had to do to make history was hit the target from 12 yards out...

They've played Utd and City...ah, I see your point <ok>

I could have also sworn it was being able to beat the team 20th in the League without an away win all season to go top of the league <ok>

United away doesn't count because they always roll over for you <ok>

I think I've read most of Redknapp's interviews this year and he hasn't ever complained about City's money. He's only said that City and all of the teams around us have far greater resources to spend. Yes we are benefitting from Adebayor's loan deal and so are City as he's in the shop window. We've also suffered, for example they outbid us for Bellamy and then offered him money well beyond our reach, or reason then discarding him a year later to the Championship and then on a free. I digress, as I said, Redknapp hasn't complained about them, merely bringing into perspective the acheivements of our squad

With regards to our squad, we are weak in two areas, on the wing and upfront. Whilst Ledley King has played much more than last season but Dawson after only half a season injured, cannot reach the same amount of games that he achieved last season. Same for Gallas. The reason our injuries have seemed lessened is because other players have stepped up to the plate for us. Kaboul has improved no end, Walker has made the right back spot his own and Defoe has shown that last season was no more than a blip.

With regards to the OP, winning the league would be a huge step up for us in one season but the way we've played so far we thoroughly deserve to be talked about as title contenders. If we can get an extra and swap Pav for a better striker that can play upfront on his own then I think we'll continue to be well up there come the end of the season, it all depends on whether we can afford to play with the big boys, or atleast whether we're willing to gamble.

I didn't mean the inconsistent challenge for the title. I meant the inconsistent performances in the premiership over recent years. Spurs have always had periods when they could beat any team home or away. Then for some reason they would get beat by any team and go on a poor run and finish 5th or 6th.

Having said that, I do not think I have seen a Spurs team where they would go as favorites in most matches. Certainly at home they can match and beat anyone (City beat them earlier at home but they were weaker then and city were flying).

Now City is stalling and others like United and Spurs might catch up. IF Spurs and United win today like they should then we will have 3 teams equal on points at the top.

I am not sure you were referring to me as the OP but if you were then yes. I had no doubts that Spurs were the most exciting side and still played the best football. yesterday they were a bit flat which is not surprising. I did say they were prone to inconsistencies in performance.

The difference with teams who have been there like United (and a certain extent Chelsea and Arsenal) is that they can grind out a win even if they are not playing well. Curently Spurs and City seem to have to play well to get 3 points.

Yep, he was putting his achievements into perspective considering how much more every club around us spends, highlighted by City. It's not very modest of him but equally not complaining.

What an angry fella you are. For what it's worth the following players have been injured for us...

Sandro 7 games, and out for another month.
King 10 games and currently out without a return date
    Dawson 14 games
Gallas 9 games and about another month to go on his current "knock"
    Lennon 10 games
Huddlestone 19 games and the two he played in he was injured but we had so few midfielders he had to be put on the bench.

Of course it's not as bad as yours but our injuries have gone unnoticed as the players who have come in have stepped their games up.

As have ours. CL aside, we're doing as well as most people can have expected given City and Chelsea's endless profligacy. Just goes to show that 'arry was right - you don't need someone to throw a bundle of money on your desk to succeed <ok>

    Without sounding like KPR :)

Harry Redknapp, tax evasion and court case, that could cause the spuds to falter

Tough fixtures coming up for both sides which will test our title credentials! Man utd will always be favourites - 19 titles is an amazing achievement. God knows how you replace Alex Ferguson but you have reaped the benefits of sticking with your manager long term!

We are playing great football but utd are better at getting results regardless of how they play.

No team is great in every game so the flat performance yesterday for spurs was disappointing but not unexpected.

I make the side that you had out yesterday to be around the £110mill mark. Oh and you threw £250k pw to stop your best player leaving.

Yeah but that money that pays Rooney's salary isn't from oil, it's from the revenue the club makes.

Well, when you can keep your best players for over ten years and don't have to sell them to a bigger club after a couple of seasons you tend to have more money to spend on the best players. You don't have to loan them from bigger clubs whilst asking those clubs to keep paying their wages, for example. All that prize money from being more successful helps as well, as does developing our own youth players so we don't have to spend £40 million on Bassong, Pavlyuchenko and Defoe <ok>

No you are not. You are sliding down the table and will finish below Chelsea most likely; and maybe lower.
