Completely different situation, as you well know, or maybe not? Pompey were safe from relegation and were celebrating the relegation, of their bitter rivals. Are you seriously telling me that the Saints fans dabbed their eyes with hankies and tut tutted when Pompey got relegated a few years later? Honestly!
What ever happened on that day is irelevant . Pompeys Weakened team etc is neither here nor there . We did not get relegated because of 1 game , we got relegated because over an entire season we didn't score enough points to stay up !!!!!!!!
Well, I am happy to play this particular game. I will definitely be hoping for a Pompey win. So that's that. Oh, did I not mention that it will be a particularly tough old game, with 3 red cards for Pompey, 4 for the Hammers, and a large smattering of yellows. One can only hope that the injured players will recover quickly......
Pompey play Cardiff next, so we have to extend our friendship for another week and hope they don't let us down again.
I am reminded of a line in one of Spike Milligan's war memoirs, describing one of his friends as "totally dependable as he always let you down"
P*mpey dont have a hope in hell of getting anything away at Cardiff! If they do I wil bel very suprised.
Yes, although the Pompey lot would probably say that their form is intermittant. Well, sometimes anyway.
