Have to say out of the few times I've been to SDA/SJP it was quite flat today, but it'll never be as flat as The Riverside Stadium.

I dunno. Maybe if you were in it, but you could barely hear it in the Gallowgate

We were outnumbered by roughly 32 to 1 though.

Perhaps a lot of people would like to sit, but where's the harm in giving fans the option. How many times have you been dying to stand up, during an exciting game, not just to sing either!

Fair enough, I was in the leazes corner then and I'm still in it now and there is a massive difference.

    OMG.

Just driven up from Loughborough on M1 and bumped into QPR fans at service station and their exact words were............." it was like a bloody library". Even heard Ray Wilkins mention this on Sky during his commentary.

    Sorry but it seems true.

I think away fans can't talk.

You can't hear **** all when you're up in the heavens like they are. Even then, the way the Gallowgate and East stand is designed, the sound resonates towards the pitch, not the rest of the stadium. I can see the away fans from where I sit in the strawberry corner and even when they're clearly rocking, I still can't hear a peep out of them.

Well there's your problem. Your fashion choices probably put those around you into a state of perplextion, leaving them unable to sing.

Agreed! Having gone to nearly every game last season, and sat all over the ground, anyone who was up in Level 7 will have a misguided impression of the atmosphere, because you had to be at the Leazes end, and even up towards the corner to really bear the fruit of the singing up there.
As for watching it on tv, it was definitely a lot quieter today than it has been almost every other week this season, although I could still distinctly make out songs throughout the match...as my girlfriend can attest to. What I will say about our fans, is no matter whether we're home or away, its our songs that you hear when watching it on tv, and very few clubs can boast that.

Swear me and my little brother made more noise than the entire crowd when Best's goal came in.

"OHHHHH YOU BEAUTTYYYYYY! LEON BEST ****ING MAGIC! THE TOUCH, WHAT A TOUCH!"

Enough noise that almost the entire house woke up (12:45am in Australia) and began swearing angrily

I loved singing Ohhh Gutierrez for a while today, and being told to **** off by a 10 year old, all fun.

Found it funny as hell when the Gutierrez song came out and lingered for ages.

He must of wondered what he actually done. <laugh>
