That would be me. If you're curious about it, I've prepared a whole blog post on the subject www.bendonnellysax.blogspot.com/2011/09/do-feel-free-to-ask-me-why.html?m=1 Or if you'd rather engage in a dialogue, you can find me on twitter with the same username as the one I've registered here.
I thought you had run out of finger nails to bite and moved onto your toes! Interesting blog. Great instrument, the sax. PS - welcome!
What a fascinating blog. Looking at your profile and varied choice of music I can't help wondering if one of your favourite tracks should be 'Barefoot in the Head' by A Man Called Adam. It is a great tune and so appropriate to boot.
Nuts...thats what I say! Good read though Just to add...welcome to the board sax and well spotted AC!
Cheers for the feedback. I might stick around on here, especially if it's without the doom and gloom that's taken over dotorg at present. In any case you all know now that I'm a sensible friendly person who'll be happy to respond if you say hello at any game.
Yep, I went to Sunderland as well. I'll be there for all the home games, including today (though I may have to leave early at the Spurs game - something I've NEVER done before as I'm gigging with my band at Ginglik beneath Shepherds Bush Green that evening), and I'll be at West Brom, and probably Man City too. Haven't quite ruled out Chelsea yet but the £52/£55 tickets make me feel disinclined to give them any of my money.
Welcome to the board Ben. Great story. Used to spend some time in Whitstable, Kent. My mate's little sister was brought up on the pebbley beaches there and never wore shoes. She was the only one of us who never limped and stumbled over the stones going down to the sea. Anyway, this has to be the board for you. You'll find quite a few kindreds with a diverse range of personal curiosities!! Mine is no teeth (bit like Rangers atm)! Maybe that's why they call us a 'community club'...
Interesting blog and if thats what floats you boat then good luck to you. Over here it is VERY common for people to not wear shoes and socks and i know many people over 30 who have never owned a pair of shoes! I remember an incident not so long ago, where we were visiting relations in NSW. We took them for a meal and thier daughters and partners came along. One of the partners had no shoes on so we suggested that for this restaurant he would need them. He had to ring 4-5 of his friends to see if any of them actually had a pair. And then ask if he could borrow them for a few hours. I think they were about 3 sizes to big and he looked like a clown !!! Anyway, hello and welcome
Oh dear. I bet it wouldn't have been an issue in a restaurant though. I've never had any trouble in any restaurant anywhere in the UK. Though in the USA people get kicked out of places for all sorts of stupid reasons, but I'd have imagined Australia to be at least as welcoming as the UK. Basically unless I'm trying to get past a bouncer into a pub on a friday or saturday night I know I'm going to be fine. There have been the odd few exceptions but I just make a point of not going to that particular pub or shop and give some of my money to their closest competition.
