I thought that Gardner looked really good at right back and we looked a better teamwhen he played there. This week we have Swansea coming up who have two very tricky and pacey wingers. I would say we lack good quality full backs (not easy to get I know).

Again, I ask why do we need a new right back? What does Phil Bardsley have to do to shut the detractors up?

Richo is no left back for sure but I am a big fan of Bardo.

    Leave him alone.

This - Gardner RB and Bardsley LB - he is a much better LB than Richardson will ever be

As Censt says - Bardsley has a few detractors on here but won PLayer of the season last year... How can he suddenly be ****e??

I think Bardo at Left Back is great as he defends really well - get's forward really well and cuts in and gets goals and creats chances from there as well (also takes a canny corner from what I saw when Seb was banned!!)

Wonder what the lad has to do to turn people around

Sorry Bardo is not at the same level that he was last year. Gardner is much better in possession and passing. Yeah agreed switch bardo to left back although ricco's pace maybe needed as those Swansea boys have pace!

SO we need someone who runs at pace like a headless chicken and gives the ball away, rather than a defender? :p

But if he scores against the Mags he gets a free ride for the next couple of years. :p

First things first. I think Gardner has proven an excellent asset to this club. He played RB confidently and efficiently, he'll work his guts out at defensive midfield, and he's got forward ambition which has already got him on the scoresheet. If we can do anything at all to help with the lad's homesickness problem, then we should be doing it. He's been a credit whatever he's been asked to do, and I really want him to stay.

Bardsley? We can't just write our player of the season off as sh**e. It's all too easy to come out with rubbish like that. If, as some suggest, he's dipped a bit this year, then MON needs to ask why and get to the bottom of it. The easy answer is sometimes the right one - but not very often.
