    I just remembered one specific little factoid about Ameobi, in amongst our forum's little hate-in for him...

    A lot of people say that "no other club want him" which is why he's been with us for so long. In fact this is not true. Ameobi has left the club on loan once before, during the 2007-08 season.

    He went to Stoke City.
    They got promoted.

    That's right. Foluwashola Ameobi helped get Stoke promoted to the Premier League. <wah>

    (A little addendum: the curious will note that he didn't actually SCORE during his loan mind <laugh>)

    Shola's so **** that I think he probably hampered Stoke's efforts to seek promotion, but they managed to do it anyway even whilst slugging that plank of wood around.
