He is, unfortunately. But, despite this, he's doing just as much as Downing at the mo'. <laugh>

Yes true, but it took him a while, he did not win it in his first season did he?? Kenny has won league titles with Liverpool and Blackburn.

We have from his last season but you won't acknowledge it because it doesn't back up your point of view. We had virtually no squad depth when Benitez left and even the first XI wasn't great to begin with.

That's a fair point. But to me that doesn't show the overall improvement in squad depth, quality and the difference in mentality (from defensive to attacking). Dalglish has made enough mistakes in the transfer market since he's been back, but he's also signed some brilliant players like Suarez, Enrique, Adam and Bellamy who've looked like value for money so far. Then you've got the improvement in form from the likes of Johnson, Lucas, Skrtel, Maxi, Kuyt (for a little bit) and the blooding of youngsters like Robinson, Spearing, Kelly and Flanagan.

I personally think people are being overly harsh on Dalglish because they are trying to convince themselves that he's doing worse than he actually is.

Maybe, but then Arsenal have been saying the same since 2005. It's easy to play good football (like Blackpool last year), but not so easy to win consistently.

    What's a "stummer"?!?

Injured since December. But still as many goals + assists as Carroll + Downing <ok>

Stummer = mistake. How is De Gea getting on, have not seen him for a few games, what was it £18 million. Ouch.

Still at least you have Scholes now, maybe you can bring back Bobby Charlton for a few games if you get any more desperate.

Not sure about difference in attacking mentality - right now your players almost seem to believe they're going to miss or have their shot saved before they've even struck the ball. When Kuyt took his header yesterday, he practically had his head in his hands as soon as he'd met the ball. Performances have improved, but results are still not coming consistently.

Personally I think the only reason people are being harsh on Dalglish is the amount of vocal Liverpool fans (like bazray and others) who are insistent that he is somehow destined to bring success despite the fact that he has shown no greater ability than Benitez, Houllier or any number of other managers.

Don't worry, the £30 million from the CL group stage will cover it <ok>

Remind me, who's paying the £20 million bill for Downing? :D

Don't think it's £30 million mate, you only got to the group stages. What do you mean who is paying it? Chelsea I expect, why do you ask?

Liverpool -Inherited a winning team so that wasn't so difficult.

Blackburn - It was bought for him.

Fergie inherited a team fighting relegation,

It's a different situation now, and i'm sorry, but the writing on the wall for Kenny is failure.

Fergie is a good manager, winning the European cup with Aberdeen shows that. Infact Fergie is possibly the greatest ever, but he was given time to build and he threw plenty of cash at it.

"Blackburn was bought for him"(kenny), yep, give me the cash Fergie has spent and I could win the league with Wolves! So you present an invalid argument.

Too early to judge Kenny. But be gracious enough to admit he has a past record of success.

The PL champions are guaranteed at least £20 million from the market pool, plus a £7 million participation bonus. Don't worry about the maths, you've probably been out of the CL too long to remember how it works <ok>

Cup Winners Cup at Aberdeen mate. Your failure to know things makes you look a bit like an armchair fan...

And Rafa threw as much money at Liverpool as SAF did at Utd and failed to win the league when SAF won three. So that's a pretty fatuous argument you've got there. Are you sure you aren't KPR?

Is this kid for real ?! the manager you worship had time, 6 years infact & your saying after 1 year Kenny Dalglish is going to be a failure ?! Nice logic.

Swarbs, you are clearly very intelligent, but you behave like a lawyer, picking holes and looking for slight inaccuracies in arguments. You point out the little errors whilst ignoring the facts presented to you.

    Typical United fan.

You see it a lot, when people are losing an argument, they proceed to point out spelling mistakes. FAIL.

But that's my point. Finishing is something that can be bought by either getting new players (assuming the right players are bought) or by practicing on the training field. If the manager's philosphy is more about defence than attack a la Benitez, Houllier and Hodgson then its much harder to win, or do well, in the league.

Our problems of not finishing very well are tiny in comparison to our problems under Hodgson, Benitez (in his final season) and Houllier (in his last two seasons).

Well it was actually 3-5-2 but no point trying to argue with United fans fresh after a 3-0 win. Came out from under your rocks, jumped straight onto your high horses and placed on the red specs.
