Incredibly slow - he looks like he's running through hummus
Incredibly lazy - If there is even 1% of a chance that he won't be able to reach the ball in time, he simply won't bother going for it and just stop still to watch it roll out
First touch of a cruise liner - 90% of the time, his first touch knocks the ball about 10-15 feet in front of him, and then we revert back to the 'incredibly lazy' point
No agility - he has the turning circle of an island

People need to stop making excuses for the guy. Yes he gets touches on the ball so of course, by law of odds, he's going to play a part in a goal from time to time. However, it's nothing any normal player can't do. Everything else is just ****. This guy is a striker, a goalscorer, and he doesn't score goals. His apps to goals ratio puts him on part with Carlton Cole and Heskey for christ's sake, and he's starting games whilst HBA sits on the bench!

Shola does well in the Championship, and imo that's where he belongs, because he just isn't good enough for this level. I really wouldn't mind one bit if he got shipped out, although sadly I don't think that's ever going to happen.

I've gave up on you Shola bum boys who are going to find something to praise him about even when he's had a shocking, shocking, shocking performance. I really have.

    This x100.

I'm gonna stick my neck out and say that's the worst attacking performance by a player I've ever seen. Ever.

Yep, he was a disgrace. Against Man Utd he did OK, but today he was just abysmal. The touch towards the end of the match summed him up really.

Perfect time for you to have your customary Shola whinge, he had a terrible terrible game, disgraceful in fact. Absolute carthorse, stood around like a plank admiring his own passes and just strolled around even more than usual. Nobody who is sane can defend that performance in any way shape or form.

Still doesn't change the fact that I think he's done ok for us on the whole this season. You're right though he certainly can't be playing full 90s if we expect to kick on and really assault the European places, he just isn't good enough.

    Shush child.

Honestly, it's like Obertan having a SHOCKING performance, and then someone comes along and says "well I thought he ran fast"

You wouldn't do that with Obertan if he was so poor, so why do people do it with Ameobi? It's disgusting.

Ameobi was my man of the match today. His touches were sublime and he puts a hell of a lot of graft in!

Shola was **** in the second half but he was decent in the first half; held the ball up well and set up the goal. I know Best scored a good goal but apart from that I thought he was just as **** as Shola today.

By 'set up the goal' do you mean that he passed the ball back out of the box to the only player available because he realised he couldn't do anything else with it? If you fling enough ****, some of it will stick.

And we're back with the old 'holds up the ball' attribute which is absolutely meaningless and comes to absolutely nothing. Only Shola Ameobi would be such a **** excuse for a striker, yet have all criticism swept aside by some people who focus on him 'holding up the ball well'.

I officially dub you a helmet. Go stand in the helmet corner with Tash.
