Against Everton, I don't live in Newcastle so wasn't at the game, I met up with someone in Birmingham so couldn't stream it, I had an 18th to go to at night so couldn't even watch MOTD and I forgot to record it.

So anyone out there want to tell me how we played. One thing I have heard is that our defence was shocking can anyone confirm this or are my Coventry City mates just jealous of our EPL status?

Bit of both, we were awful, truly awful and the Cov City fans I know are bitter about Besty starting to score regularly for us in a higher league <laugh>

We played decently enough for half an hour until we were caught out by a basic counter attack for Osman's goal and a brilliant set-piece delivery by Baines was converted by Jags. In the second half it was pretty even and we went for that crucial goal but unfortunately Everton stayed tight and strong in defense and we simply didn't have the creative edge or quality enough to break them down(Missing Barton's passing and Ireland's creativity/flair).

A respectable performance with loads of effort, work-rate and commitment but lacked that quality and cutting edge to get through a stubborn Everton side desperate for the three points.

We scored whilst on the back foot, had a brief spell after we scored but then it was just downhill. Everton deserved it.

Does that mean harper had a good game in goal or was their finishing just abysmal?

Yeah, Harps made a few saves, 2 really good ones from arteta and beckford respectively.
They were a bit wasteful as well though

Shocking at the back, not clinical enough in front of goal, and for some reason the midfield was non-existent...
