An interesting insight and one I agree with, do you have a source for this or is it just speculation (I think your spot on btw)

I think Gyan in this current side would be scoring a lot of goals (if he could be bothered). If he is an option I would have him back as long as its because HE wants to come back. I think they need to pay him the wages too. I fully expect Sess to want more money as well because he is worth it and other clubs will be sniffing round him.

I expect us to sell one of our goalies and that could free up a big wage (if its Gordon), McCartneys contract is up so that's another big wage off the bill too. I fully expect us to sell at least 2 of our midfielders, Catts, Vaughan, Meyler, Gardener, Colback, Riveros is just too many for just 2 places. Bendtner will also leave so we should be able to pay Gyan and Sess the big wages they will demand. In my view it will be worth it because instead of losing by 1 goal (as we have every loss this season) we will either be getting a point or 3 points.

So in conclusion a loan until the end of the season is sensible and Cisse would be perfect.

I also think Gyan would run riot in a MoN Sunderland side

If there is the possibilty of him coming back I think we should only be looking at bringing in a striker on loan until the summer

Again all about personal preferences. Thought Bendy was OK the last couple of games. I really like him, however he is not a 15/20 goal striker.
Bardsley has looked poor at right back but seems to be much better at left back.
O'Shea was poor at right back but looks good at centre half.
Oh, to be paid millions to make decisions that either brighten up (or piss off) our weekend.

Strange thing this football lark, under Bruce Badrdo player of the season and Kilgallon out. MON comes in and Bardo looking below par and IMO in danger and kilgallon back.

Not just here it happens but a footballers life can be a strange one, also can be a great one mind.

Very true. Really happy for Killa. What a change in fortune... although not many of us knew if he was any good or not. Long may it continue.

Will we get the right one at the right price or go for a loan signing. IMO we should try for a loan signing as a lot of the January signings are just mercenaries looking for a good payday

The thing about loans is that no team will let their decent players go on loan. With the Champs. league/relegation/promotion in full swing, the teams want to keep them, UNLESS, they get 2/3 million just to loan a player. Loan players still cost a lot of money.

I think the best thing we could do in this window is to hang on to Sess. He was ****in' magnificent yesterday, and I'm sure all the big boys will be having him closely watched.

Onouha for me would be more than we need right now.
A top striker would make it perfect but not too dissapointed if we dont.

Hello Vegas. No, please there's nothing of the Big Chris about cutey. I have no mysterious 'sources' I promise. It's just what I think. But we haven't had a global attraction like Gyan since Niall last pulled on an Ireland shirt. If you want to make Sunderland a global brand-name, Gyan is a massive asset. Ghana are one of the most exciting and attractive teams on the international scene at the moment, and even in that context, he's Mr. Personality. Our board room must be desperate not to lose that. MON's made it clear he'd have recalled him this month if he could have. And in fairness, Gyan's never had a bad word for Sunderland, other than saying 'it seems a bit disorganized' last March (and looking at what MON's achieved with Bruce's players, who can disagree with that?). I've always felt that someone in the club - Quinn or Short - made a deal with Gyan in September behind Bruce's back. I'm not saying they were already planning to ditch Bruce, but I do think contingency plans were in the air. I think we loaned him out for a year to buy everyone concerned a bit of time.

The wage situation isn't very clear, but from what we've been told, Gyan was on around £20,000 a week last year. O.k., that's a lot to me. But in context of the Prem, it's derisory for an international star. We'll have to re-negotiate that I think. Other than that, I can't see anything standing in the way. The board wants it, MON's made nice noises about Gyan, and one of the first people to congratulate MON on his appointment was Gyan (on twitter). It's all in place, and with this midfield support and wide play, I feel certain he'd top the eleven goals he got last year. But, it's just my thoughts - no 'secret sources' I promise.

That all makes perfect sense to me. Gyan is probably worth the 80k a week Bent wanted, its certainly what he could get elsewhere. I suspect Sess will want the same too. I would rather sell a couple of our average players and pay their wages. In reality its a few million a year (in wages) which we will earn from higher league placing. For both players its cheaper to pay them more than try and replace them.

    Lets hope your right.
