Without doubt the best 65 minutes of football I have seen Town play at Portman Road this season. We dominated possession in the first half, we looked full of energy, we tackled and got stuck into them from the off. The question is Jewell you started with the kids which you think aren't good enough! Hyam was immense, Carson and Martin were superb (Martin man of the match imo), Drury did well in the midfield and Scotland as usual worked his nuts off. Even JET showed that he was interested in the game. Unfortunately we seem to think that a game of football only lasts for 65/70 minutes! 2-0 up and coasting to a valuable 3 points before the substitutions intervened to snatch a draw for Blackpool. To be fair they could have won it and we had chances including a nailed on penalty.

The negatives are as usual crap defending yet again! I lost count of the number of times that Edwards was caught out at Right Back. He left acres of space for their wide man to get in behind and it happened time and time again. Desperate for a proper right back! Our Keeper was at fault for their second as positionally he was all over the place. Sonko now looks god awful at times. Bambi on ice springs to mind with the ball at his feet and his headed clearances are now woefull!

Tactically Jewell was inept as usual taking off Scotland and Carson. The resulting change in formation just handed the initiative to Blackpool. I mean Priskin and Bullard FFS! Why not bring on Chopra to help boost his confidence if he is lacking it as Jewell keeps saying. It speaks volumes about Jewell's tactical genious that we have thrown so many games away this season after Jewell's substitutions!

This is just a stay of execution for Jewell as far as I'm concerned but I hope he has finally learnt thay if he trusts our youth players a bit more we may just pull out of this mess. I would start with Drury over Leadtwats any day for example. In the wider context however we missed a golden opportunity to put 6 points distance between us and third bottom with everyone around us losing today. The signs from the first 65 minutes are very encouraging but with this idiot in charge he will more likely bring in the Dad's Army for next weeks game at Leeds if they are all fit to play.

Jewell has to stick now with Drury, Martin, Carson & Hyam and even JET. Give them a fair crack of the whip. They provided the energy and the hunger today which has been so badly missing from previous games.

Jewell OUT as I will never be convinced by his "Management" so for me the result today doesn't change anything.

JWM, you are being a tad unrealistic, both subs were forced upon Jewell, both Scotland and Carson picked up knocks/injuries. (According to Jewell anyway)
Although that is where my defence for Jewell comes to an end.

First hour of today’s game we were good, very good Blackpool were lucky to still be in the game at H/T.
Back four looked solid, Drury & Hyam in control of the middle of the park, our attacking trio of Martin, Carson & JET, yes JET ran Pool ragged.
Scotland on his own up front was holding the ball up well until support arrived, we were well worth our lead at H/T & deserved to go 2-0 on the hour.
But yet again once tactical changes started Jewell failed, Holloway made 3 positive changes going forward, before Jewell had realised what was going on it was 2-1.
Blackpool for a while went with four attacking players, it took an injury for Jewell to react, no wonder our back four struggled to cope, this type of thing has happened so many times this season I have lost count.
Jewells counter, was Priskin & Bullard for Scotland & Carson, as I said both forced but both inadequate, Priskin wants away, Bullard is a has been, sorry but true, we have no other options because they are either sold, loaned, trialled or forced out by Jewell. (injuries, every club has them, so we have to deal with them)
So for all the positives from the first hour of today’s game, they are totally outweighed by all the mismanagement that has gone on during the last half hour.

The most poignant aspect of today’s game was the positive performance of the youngsters, Hyam, Carson, Smith, all had very good games after being frozen out, just a shame we are so intent on selling our own young stars as soon as possible…!

Good showing today by our team, clearly they can play, so let’s get a manager in who can get them to produce week in week out. The big problem for me is that as JWM says, is if Leadboots, Murphy etc. are available next week they will be back in….Jewell = Moron…!

Just for the record we have picked up 8 points out of the last possible 42, do you Jewell believers still believe..?

    Jewell out..!

If he uses the same first eleven next week (injuries permitting) I might start to think he is learning. Can't see it happening though. Blackpool are a good team, we have Leeds next and I don't see why we should change the team just because of our opposition.

Well based on 2 much better performances I'm happier.

Not sure either if Jewell is the long term man, however, it appears he's getting backed so lets get behind him!

We were very good for large spells at Brum too !

If Leadbitter comes in for Hyam next game I'll be annoyed to say the least, lets get points on the board that our performances deserve please......!

when we went on that unbeaten spell earlier in the season, we had an unchanged team for all 6 games, I believe. or as best as we could manage. So the side may remain unchanged for the next game.

I'm not entirely sure what people expect to happen if Jewell leaves. Do you want us to become a Newcastle and change managers every five minutes?

FFS, stick with these youngsters, PJ. And why pick Priskin, of all players, from obscurity in favour of Chops? I just hate the way that team selection seems to be more trial and error rather than positive management, and the irony of yesterday's was only because it was forced.

Who knows what Jewel was thinking bringing Priskin into the squad, I guess he would say he had no other options, but whos fault is that then Jewell.? He is so intent on off loading the likes of Murray & Oconnor that he would rather leave them out on loan/trial than bring them back for first team cover when we have so many injuries just now. More mismanagement by Jewell....Just why would you pick Priskin ahead of Chopra is beyond me..

we certainly need a RB as we have known for a while as soon as Blackpool tried the long ball it was clear that Carlos was caught out of position everytime, other than that i thought it was a good performance Lee Martin was Quality playing behind Scotland Drury and Hyam played well and i though Smith and Sonko looked good for most of the game.

I would pick Priskin over Chopra everytime. I dont see why Chopra deserves time and time again to show why we clambered over his signing for 3 years yet Priskin should be kicked out and never given a go. For me, Priskin has never been given a decent run at the club. He may be little more than a penalty box player but give him the ball in the box and I would fancy his chances. Chopra has been woeful all season. So have the likes of Leadbitter and Edwards, yet nobody seems to call for Chopra to be left out unlike the other two.
