They aren't the only newly promoted team to be in a similar position to us..... 10/11 - Newcastle Played 21 Points 28 Position 8th Played 38 Points 46 Position 12th 09/10 - Birmingham City Played 21 Points 33 Position 8th Played 38 Points 50 Position 9th 06/07 - Reading Played 21 Points 27 Position 9th Played 38 Points 55 Position 8th A comparison of our last 2 campaigns League One Played 23 Points 45 Played 46 Points 95 Championship Played 23 Points 39 Played 46 Points 84 In the last two years under Lambert we have got stronger in the second half of the season (New players gelling, working better together etc). The second half of this season has started with 2 away wins. My glass is certainly half full right now
Good stat work! It's been getting annoying hearing Blackpool in the same breath as Norwich all the time. It's as though they go together like Torvill & Dean or Ipswich & Relegation.
That is a tag that City will shake off before the end of the season, of that I am certain because it now is looking good for staying up at the first attempt. Still some way to go but 12 points from our remaining games is far from impossible to achieve with Bolton, Wigan, Wolves, Everton & Villa all to visit CR and of course there are loads more games home and away where the odd point (or more) may be picked up - really looks pretty good
I never really jumped on the Blackpool band wagon but for some reason I am absolutely loving Norwich and Swansea this season. The way you both play doesn't feel like you're newly promoted sides. big fan of Lambert, would like to see him as LFC manager one day.
Swansea have surprised me tbh. I didn't think they would score enough and defend so well! They played lovely football last season and it was effective against most Championship teams, just never thought they would do it at the higher level. All credit to them. As for Paul Lambert - HANDS OFF!!!!
