He's a good striker for our attacking mids to play off, just look at the winner against Blackburn. Best 1-2 with Guti. Even if he doesn't score the space he makes gives other players oppotunities

Shola is definitely stronger, but Best wins more in the air. At the end of the day, on form Best is far better than Shola.

    Agreed.

Best needs to act more like a Striker, than a Midfielder.
We have better players, like Ben Arfa, who can play that position.

He never seems to have the confidence too take shots, which is what you expect from Strikers.

Same could be applied to Strolla. I think they're on a par.

Whenever Best has had a long consistent run of games, he's scored goals, and scored quite a fair few. No matter what sort of run Shola gets, he just scores next to nothing. It's dreadful.

Whoever comes in has to be a replacement for Ba, so we need the guy more likely to score the most goals. Best is the guy for me.

When best had a decent run of games, he ended up with something like 8 or 9 goals in 15 appearances, and that spanned across the 10-11 and 11-12 seasons. People seem to forget the 3 goals he scored before Ba found form. His brace against Fulham and the equaliser with Villa bagged us 4 of the points we have now.

Ameobi does **** all even with a long run of games. Ameobi had 28 APPEARANCES last season, and it was in one fairly long spell when Carroll got sold and Best got injured, yet he only managed 6 goals. Even this season, he's managed one single goal in 12 appearances.

Really, when on form, Best is so much better than Ameobi at the basic and fundamental ability of scoring goals, which is exactly what we need.

Best and HBA would be a interesting partnership for me. Best holds the ball up well and chests it down for someone coming onto the ball so even though he does not score, he may in fact create a lot for others.

He would give HBA cover to do what he does best without some defender clattering him, best can take that stick and then BOOM its in the net from HBA!

    4-0 today.

You'd think so wouldn't you? But they struggled to have any impact against Blackburn until HBA moved out onto the wing.
