I thought it was a good tackle, but if the ref wanted to send a message to the players, a yellow would have done (in fussy mode), but a red, laughable in my eyes. Its been a strange couple of weeks for sending off's hasn't it.

There is nothing in the rules that states that 2 footed tackles are not allowed only " excessive force " but any non- utd fan can see he only had eyes for the ball. He really is an amazing player.

Kompany made a clean tackle, no malice at all either. Never a red for me. It's not even a yellow or a foul for me. He actually went into the tackle with one foot as well it's not like both legs were together. Yes 2 feet were off the ground when he won the ball but not together. And he didn't fly in out of control, he was in control of the tackle.

Unfortunately in the modern game when you get both feet involved in a tackle you are risking a red card. However I thought a yellow would have been adequate.

Cork man of the match easy, shame Martin didn't finish his chance.
All in all a great away day, amazing to get a win away from home at last. We outclassed them easy could have had more infact.

Hopefully this will kick on with our away form and really push on for promotion <ok>

Martin deserves a mention definitely. He has been superb in Fonte's absence and considering how vital Jose is he has done brilliantly and certainly has a very bright future.

Agree Lallana was terrific today - great passing and energy and set up lots of what we did well - Cork ,Lallana, Morgan and Deano were superb and should have won 6-0!

It was 2 footed and his feet left the ground - by the letter of the law thats a red card

There's nothing in the rule book about 2 footed tackles actually

True but 2 footed tackles that leave the floor = excessive force and endangers the opponent

De Ridder was carrying an injury.

I thought Hooiveld was class. Totally commited, barely lost a header and dealt with a bit of a physical beast in Harewood. Shame he missed that sitter last in the second half!!

Yeah i thought this - he was holding his hamstring and wandered around for ages before Forrest kicked it out for the substition to be made. ( In the end Forrest managed to mis-kick yet another pass straight out of play, and the sub was made!) ha
