Yeah agreed but he hasn't played there on a regular basis, probably only 4 or 5 games in Europa League. Still seems like a lot of money imo. I'm not saying he's not capable just that he's not proven at the top level.
Looks like we've had a bid for Hooper rejected and someone else has as well http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16560707.stm
"Southampton are believed to be interested in the player with the Championship club's boss Neil Adkins having worked with Hooper when both were with Scunthorpe." lol
If your refering about the interview he pretty much confirmed there has been a bid but not sure if we're going for it in a big way?
He has obviously been told by Cortese to keep the info small. He was lost for words when asked if we were going back in for Hooper.
Well it was a bit of a typical Adkins saying something without actually saying it, but he said that there was a lot of work going on behind the scenes, etc. etc. and the last two weeks of the window etc. etc. and people will have to make decisions etc. etc. But reading between the lines, it sounded to me like we are going for it. Disagree if you will.
Heard a cry when he was asked that question. "Neil Lennon has said that you've made a bid for Hooper" - "Oahhh"
http://audioboo.fm/boos/623720 - That's Nige's post match interview if anyone missed it. Sounds to me as if they'll consider whether to put another bid in over the next few days, rather than they've decided they definitely will or they definitely won't.
http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa346/Paddy70/Untitled-3-2.jpg. It seems that we have got the hairy ones rattled. They must realise that if we want him, we will get him! Okay
Sounds to me like Celtic are trying to scare teams away with a silly valuation, It's all right Lennon saying he is not for sale but I believe his board will take the money and Lennon won't have much of a say in it. my prediction by friday the deal will be done. Price wise £6 m should do it
Lennon know's that for the right price Hooper will be off. He's just hoping Saints don't bid that certain price. As previously said, £7 million would secure it, just depends if NC would spend that much.
