Great idea there's a load of great castles and generally great buildings in Bavaria so you could do a pretty amazing tour of the alps. Did that myself in 2010; France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Germany. Surprisingly cheap too!

Yeah it is quite weird because it is on Fifth Avenue full of skyscrapers and then your have St Patrick's Cathedral inbetween them.

I love the science bit! The park next to it is great too, it used to be a riverbed but dried up and they turned it into a park.

Wasn't aware of that! Valencia's a great city to visit though. I went in February last year and it was so hot we went to the beach <laugh>

When I was in about year 6, I went on a school trip to Paris. Having previously never been to any capital cities before, I was simply astounded at the profoundness of everything! The moment I looked up at the Eiffel tower from the banks of the Seine, I was perplexed at the scale of it. As for the Arc De Triomph, nothing matches the feeling you get as you look up at it from the Place de la Concorde.

I went to London a few years later, hated it. <ok>

    No offence Londoners. :)

It is a building, so it counts.
