Truly awesome performance to a man brilliant...we showed what a side we are against a Big lump it forward up and a tem typical Megson team and we stood firm.
Result of the season so far for us.
Everyone else may of won but wednesday didnt and we are 7 ahead of third with a game in hand.
And we are doing it playing proper football .
A triumph today of good over evil.

Fun fact, we have most points per game out of all football league clubs this season.

A stadium with good 3G- let me start with this.. They had a goal disallowed on the strike of half time but it looked onside!

A frantic start but without any chances. BWP (I think) tested early but then hamer made a top save from them.

Have to be honest- their strikers, in particular o'grady have had the better of our defence. Of the plan is to keep it tight second half then we could be in trouble. They are trying to go up against solly but he has stood up week, but any covering defender has struggled. Taylor got turned inside out by o'grady and Morrison has messed up too many clearances.

Pritchard has struggled, but Hollands hasn't looked too hot either. JJ and Green have defended far too much for my liking.

The goal- it was so good I didn't see Orr go in as I started celebrating.

Summary- we need to buck up otherwise this scoreline will reverse.

I wrote that at half time- a bit premature you'll see from opening statement. In a cab to west sat to party- second half we dominated. They had one late chance that I think was off the line, couldn't see: other than that it was comfortable. Don't think hamer made a save. BWP should have scores, but he played very wll. Hard to pick a MOM, but maybe kermo for his battling or Hollands.. Bit of a poor first half but in the second he was immense.

Pritchard was a bit too touch and go for my liking.. Once Russell was on and in the middle, he steadied the ship big time.

Deserves 3?points. Even Wednesday fans said so on the walk up! COYR

Wednesday sounded a real brute up-and-under team. And also trying to intimidate 4th official - if we beat Sheff U next week we should be away with clear daylight from others.

Fantastic result. Promotion may well be forged at places like Bury an Yeovil, but a win at Hillsborough when both sides are looking at promotion is the stuff of dreams. Looking forward to the sunday papers tomorrow.

CP had a funny bust up with the 4th official... Megan was running around, but when CO walked out his area he was pushed back in, so he went mad and started jumping in and out of the box frantically. Don't know if he will get in trouble, but was humerus.

Just back home from the game. Better team won. As Mary says, it was tight in the first half, but second half was fairly comfortable, and we were able to push them back when we needed to. BWP and Russell both had good chances to put us 2 up, but their little flurry at the end of the match was about it from them.

I think United were a better side. O'Grady impressed me in the first half, and thought Johnson looked decent in the second.

Apparently they have the best CM in the division and the greatest player ever to play in the third tier on loan from Stoke. I'm guessing the lad who had towels to dry the ball for throw-ins was from Stoke, but the other fella must've been injured.

We did waste a fair amount of time, in fairness, Stu. But they picked up 3 yellow cards from body checks preventing breakaways. Cynical is the word, never mind physical.

All in all, it was like watching Barcelona. And beating them. ;)

MT won't like the song that was sung at Wendies' sub CB... <whistle>

Onwards and upwards. MASSIVE game coming up.

I didn't think we wasted time- their first sub, Marshall was it? He took a year and a age to go off. Hamer was rushing kicks, hence why 80% were crap.

Just got back and I have to tell you all that was abso-bloody-lutely fantastic! I am going to be buzzing all week.

Unbelievable support from the faithful. Shouted and sang all game.

I haven't seen a team try and kick us off the park for years - Wednesday were grossly over-physical and got exactly what they deserved - which was nothing.

Have to disagree with a couple of posters, I thought Bradley Pritchard was immense today. He took such a battering, it was fortunate he walked off and wasn't carried off. His distribution was great, he harried and tackled and even won some stuff in the air. Difficult to split him and Chris Solly for MoM. Solly was just brilliant, even when they stuck the geezer the size of a lighthouse on him late in the second half, it didn't faze him.

JJ's free kick was sublime and pin-point accurate, Weaver didn't have a hope. It's only now he's back that I realise how much we missed him.

Must make mention, before I go off and eat, about the ground - it's a cr*p heap and a crying shame that one of the most iconic football grounds in the country has been allowed to get so tatty. I last went there about 15 years ago, and I doubt if the toilets have been decorated since. Disgraceful.

    More later...

We weren't Oldham, but we did waste time. Initially to slow down the game, take the wind out of their sails, and then later on largely because it was seriously winding up the home fans.

Taking ages for throw-ins, Hamer always crossing as far away as possible for goal and free kicks. Yann was booked for timewasting, and he wasn't even the worst.

Goal was a beauty, mind. <ok>

Possibly his last game for them (his loan has expired) so maybe he was milking the applause (if any).
