I know it was before his time, but perhaps Wenger should remember. The biggest ever unfair advantage was back in the early 70's when Highbury was the only pitch with under turf heating enabling Ar5ena1 to play all of their matches over the winter months when all the other teams suffered match cancelations and associated fixture pile ups.

I'm no right winger. I'm very egalitarian - I hate all politicians equally. But, on this point, I agree. Sillyband is the worst party leader since Michael Foot in mouth.

It's bad enough we have to talk about Arsenal on here fellas. There must be somewhere else you can argue about politics. The only real difference between them these days is the colour tie they wear. They would sell their ideaology, their kids, their grandmother, every last one of us and their left nut (assuming they have any) to get elected or re-elected.

As for the OP,Wenger knows the score here. If he doesn't like it, he can **** off.

Wenger always has an excuse, and pathetic ones at that. Its never his fault or that of the dire players he buys.

The bloke is a grade A douche.

He's done a lot for The Gooners over the years. But, iI fear he's rapidly losing the plot at the moment. He is, by nature, one of life's whingers, but his constant whining nowadays, is just pathetic.

Wenger seems like a very principled man, so I'm sure that he'll give back the salary that Arsenal have paid him via the TV revenue that he clearly deplores.
Then they'll tear down their new stadium, which was also financed through the same TV cash.

Maybe you're (deliberately) missing the point. But Wenger was acknowledging the fact that whilst TV money is a part of the game, the premier league should have a stronger backbone in not letting TV companies dictate when fixtures are played.

p.s. The Emirates Stadium was financed by a consortium of banks, led by RBS. Note of interest here is that no public money was given to Arsenal for the build either <whistle>

    He's making excuses, Piskie.
The TV companies have to be allowed some power in these decisions or they wouldn't stump up so much money.

How do you think Arsenal have repaid those loans?
£85m of your revenue for the last set of yearly figures that I've seen came from TV and broadcasting.

EDIT: RBS, by the way? Bailed out for how much, out of public money?

This was pre RBS meltdown. Arsenal restructured the loans via bonds. <ok>
Wenger recognised that TV money and thus their influence on fixtures is a part of the game.
But his salient point was that the premier league should have more influence over fixtures, to ensure parity between clubs.
Can't see why anyone would disagree with that really.

He then went on to moan about your fixtures Piskie, which is what he was really getting at.
    Not the first time, either.

Irresponsible lending to unworthy borrowers caused this financial crisis.
Hope you're happy with yourselves! <grr>
    Arsenal Cause Worldwide Economic Crisis!
Wenger blames, er... everyone else, basically.

Not when Arsenal took out the loan from them they weren't. We restructured the loans into bonds back in 2006, three years before RBS's collapse and subsequent public bailout. <ok>

Actually it was RBS's calamitous 71.1bn Euro takeover of Dutch bank ABN Amro which set of a chain of events that led to their collapse, but don't let that get in the way of your cheap dig <whistle>

    <laugh>

Wenger paid £2.75m for RVP, who is now worth somewhere in the region of £40m

Maybe RBS should have employed Wenger? He does have a masters in Economics after all....

You appear to have forgotten the introduction of Barca Tax.
They'll give you £12.50 and some slightly stale hob-nobs for him.
Don't force him to stay against his will, you cruel bastards. <grr>
