There's some matches that could effect us.

    Liverpool vs Stoke -

If Liverpool win today and we win tomorrow, we'll stay a point behind Liverpool, but 7 points clear of Stoke in 8th. Or if Liverpool and Stoke draw, we'll go 1pt ahead of Liverpool and 6pts clear of Stoke.

I personally think we need to stay as far away from 8th as possible. I'd be happy with either a Liverpool win or a draw, but the further away from Stoke we are, the better, so -

I hope for a Liverpool win, my prediction is -

    Liverpool 3-1 Stoke.

    Chelsea vs Sunderland

With the way Chelsea are at the moment, it wouldn't surprise me if the Mackems nicked a draw. However, the teams that have upset Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, had some quality up front.

Sunderland are a well organised side, and despite scoring 4 vs Wigan, they don't have great quality up front.

I see this being a tight game, and If Sunderland lose and we win, we'll be 12 pts clear of them. I think Sunderland will frustrate Chelsea with their organised defence, but I think Chelsea will produce a moment of quality and win the game.

    Prediction - Chelsea 1-0 Sunderland

    Villa vs Everton

Don't know how this is going to go, but a draw would do us nicely.

My head says 1-1, so my prediction is 1-1.

    West Brom vs Norwich

Big game. A draw would be the best result for us. Both are around the top 10.

Prediction - West Brom 1-1 Norwich

    Other games

    Predictions

    Blackburn 1-1 Fulham
    Man Utd 4-0 Bolton
    Spurs 2-0 Wolves

Surprise, surprise. If Liverpool were playing Blackburn you'd want the Scousers to win to keep us clear of 20th. The draw is clearly the best result, less points on the board for our rivals.

The others I don't see as being that important, we'd have to **** up fairly to be caught by anyone other than Stoke, it wouldn't hurt if they dropped points though, especially the Mackems, they could do with being brought down a peg or two.

It's 6th vs 8th ffs I want us to stay clear of 8th, if we both win then we'll still only be a point behind them anyway.

I don't see us beating Liverpool to 6th at all.

I can only see a Liverpool win, they seem to be on a roll at the minute now Gerrard is back. 3-1.
Chelsea will cruise to victory over Sunderland. 2-0
Villa v Everton... high score draw. 2-2
West Brom v Norwich I see a last-minute winner in this one. 1-2
Blackburn have no chance against Fulham, 0-3 and Kean is finally sacked
    Man U 2-0 Bolton
    Spurs 1-0 Wolves

Draw between Liverpool and Stoke would be nice, the rest I'm not too worried about.

The Stoke game is perfect for Carroll. If he fails to score then I will be suprised.

He's recently struggled against strong defenders, just doesn't seem to have that balance and upper body strength that he did when with us. Clearly he didn't use weights with us, exercised by beating people up, cut it out at Liverpool but didn't replace it <laugh>

How is it perfect for him? Stoke are good in the air and more likely to cut out his aerial threat.

Yes, who else has the strength and height of Carroll to get on the end of crosses against a big and physical Stoke defense?

Carroll should get on better now Gerrard is back. He gets a lot of stick for his record, but none of Liverpool's other strikers have scored goals because their midfield is ****. Gerrard will create chances for them, hopefully Carroll will spurn them until Gerrard gets injured again.

Agreed, Gerrard was pinging in those pinpoint crosses to Carroll against us after he came on, still don't know how Carroll didn't score at least once. Service like that you have to be REALLY bad not to start taking advantage of. People argue with justification that there's no such thing as bad luck in front of goal but if there is then Andy Carroll has definitely had it - off the bar, post, great saves - it just won't seem to go in for him.

I always keep thinking Carroll can't go another full 90 minutes of Premiership football without scoring but he keeps proving me wrong, so at this moment I'd never say I'd be surprised to see Andy Carroll had failed to score.
