Cold, hot, alcoholic, non alcoholic, the whole works. Drinks rule and I could do with some recommendations from you enlightened people.. when you finally decide to wake up.

    - Your favourite hot drinks?
    - Favourite soft drinks?
    - Your favourite alcoholic drinks?
    - Recommend your favourite drinks that maybe we've not heard of before.

Or just explain why you think one drink is far better than another etc. Let's get a good drinking discussion going. I'll get started:

Westons organic cider, orchard pig & orchard gold cider, Stella cider (calling it cidrè is gay)...
And always use this line 'what is the best kind of cider??...rightinciderrrrr!!! (in a deep sommerset accent). Women love it.

I like a few newcy browns here and there, I couldn't get over how popular it was in LA a few years ago, it was a proper trendy drink!!!

Yeah, I couldn't believe it when I saw the website for Newcastle Brown Ale in the USA. http://newcastlebrown.com/ It's like an interactive movie <laugh>

It's not so easy to get it here but theres a deli nearby that has some imported English goods and cans of brown ale are in there - not as good as a bottle but it will do. I'd love it if they had McEwans Export too because that is amazing, unfortunately they don't.

I'll drink anything, and when I'm home love a nice pint of real ale but for the most part I drink Lager or lighter beers and usually whichever ones are cheapest at the bar, every time I've travelled I've tried to find new beers and there's some amazing ones out there...

Australia: Really flavorsome, actually nicer warm than cold despite it being a lager.

Uganda: Awesome, great taste and 5.5% but goes down like lemonade.

Thailand: Everton? Stronger and more taste than Singha - great when you're sick of drinking crazy Thai cocktails!

    As for hot drinks...

Tea: Stick your poncey chi and go and put a brew on!

Coffee: Nothing too fancy, but at uni, this is what I buy when I have money (I drink Spar soil when I don't)

    Soft Drink:

Destroys your teeth, but tastes great.

Never been one for Aussie beers, but then I've never had this before. How does it compare? This the best from there you think?

I'm gonna really benefit from this thread, some excellent choices so far.

It's Earl Grey tea, for, err, tea.
Favourite coffee is anything from Ethiopia or Italy.
As for alcoholic I'd choose JD and coke every single day of the week. If not JD then Teachers.

^All this depends on in-coming money. At the minute I'm drinking absolute guff. JWAG's Spar soil is a step-up from actual soil for me.

Tough to say to be honest, I was only there for 2 n a half weeks, in that time we were only on the N/E coast and was pretty skint by this stage. This was the nicest beer I personally tasted (it's from Tazmania) but I didn't sample too much and this was a good year and a half ago since I drank it...

Errrm, as for comparison? Stronger in flavour than your average lager but without a lingering aftertaste that I find can be a little clawing with some beers - perfect for drinking a few in the sunshine, maybe a slightly less bitter/hoppy Leffe Blonde?

Buddhists don't drink Earl Grey because they strongly stick to their belief that ' all proper tea is theft '.

Nice, sounds pretty great! I'll see about getting a bottle from my local beer shop and post back on here when I've drank it (will have to be under a lamp rather than the sun though - its dark and snowy today..)

Westvleteren 12. Pretty tough to get a hold of outside of Belgium, the only way you can get it is one case at a time by personally contacting the monks in the monastery where it is made. But seriously, this beer is one of the best beers in the world - pretty sure it even wins practically every beer award there is too <laugh>, if you get offered then definitely go for it even if you dislike beer usually because it is as unique as it is delicious.

Hmm I do like a drink. Blue mountain coffee would be the hot drink but it is ridiculously expensive. Alcohol: I like a Corona/Sol on a hot day. I like a Tiger or Cobra, but in the main if out I'm on spirits after a few beers. Rum and coke or JD and coke. Mainly wine in the house and my favourite red is a good Barollo, favourite white a Sancerre. But I mainly just try the odd one recommended on tv etc at a reasonable price. I do have a current taste for sparkling wines and Jacobs Creek Pinot Noir is nice.

I had a few shots of raspberry sambuca while out recently and that was nice. Best tip I've been given is to have the odd apple sours while out to refresh your palette. Just increases your appetite for more drink!

This ****s all over Jack Daniels & any other bourbon & is 50.5%. It was also the good dr, Hunter S Thompson's poison of choice so say no more!

Jeremiah Weed's sour mash brew is amazing, my favourite new restaurant in Leeds, RibShakk sells it and they actually serve them in the jamjar glasses. Quite hard to find in the UK, but I believe some wetherspoons do stock them. Well worth a try as very refreshing & quite unique amongst alcoholic beverages!

I actually have one of these glasses & this drink goes without saying (although I keep stocking up on the Dunston brewed variety as the Tadcaster new ones taste too sweet imo):

Plus the usual motley crew of lagers, ales & cocktails like (Long Island Ice Tea, Fat Cuban, Lynchberg Lemonade and so on).
