Finally got round to doing one of these. I've made a late decision to go to tomorrow's game, as I've done more uni work than I expected to. I can't help feeling hugely nervous that a very good Sheffield Wednesday side, backed by a huge and boisterous home crowd, will bring us down a notch. But then I think back to the games against Huddersfield and Sheffield United where we were comfortable in containing them and took our chances. And if we show the spirit we did against Fulham last week then we are good enough to tear them apart. My prediction is 1-1, with Hollands scoring early for us only for a late equalizer to restrict us to a nonetheless satisfying point.
Well done, Captain B! Should get 1500 up there at this rate and I've got to say, I can hardly wait for this one. I think we can win this, but it's going to be close, and it's going to be hard and it's not going to be very pretty. It's also going to be damned cold... 2-1 to us...COYR!!
Pity you're not coming, Glovepup. I'm in Sheffield now, getting less and less confident about it, but a point should be achievable. For these sorts of teams, it's their Cup final when Charlton come to town, so they'll be fired up for it. A win would be great as it would put us in good standing ahead of the MASSIVE game against Sheffield United next Saturday. I don't think I've predicted any result so far on here, so that's not going to change.
Yeah I know eh, wish I could be there........wait a minute. You nearly had me there ;-) Cold up there by any chance?
Minus 1 and dropping in Tewkes... Watching Crazy Heart - if our forwards are half as brilliant as Jeff Bridges tomorrow, we're gonna win 8-0.
I just can't see ths team of ours losing 2 on the trot, so I'm sure those going will have something to cheer about.
I'll be on the 8:15 coach from Bexleyheath! - Should be illegal for students be up that early. I'd definitely take a point tomorrow if I was offered one now, and then 3 against the Blades next weekend. I saw we've only sold 1,200 of the 5,500 allocation which is a bit disappointing considering the importance of the game. Still it'll be away game number 11 for me this season, and my 1st trip to Hillsborough! COYR!
I remember going to hillsborough many years ago to see the debut of Andy jones...he tuened down Everton to join us,was highly rated destined to o far and..what happened he was awful. Oh for the record we drew 0 0
The head says draw but the heart says we will win! I'm going for a 2-0 tomorrow and then a 3-1 against the blades at the valley next saturday.
Bloody freezing!!! On my way to Victoria to get the megabus . You can tell its January. I've changed my mind about the score thousands of times- but right now I'm thinking 1-2. I think this is the game BWP finds his shooting boots and we will do a smash and grab.
OMG, it's cold - minus 5! So that's why the heating came on at 4.30 this morning. Plans for an early morning bike ride shelved as I doubt whether I'd be thawed out in time to leave at 11.00. Good sign that I'm enjoying my football again is the large cloud of butterflies in my stomach at the anticipation of a really big match - well, it's either that or last night's Chinese was a bit dodgy... Hope all travelling Addicks have a safe journey. COYR!!
Heading back - got a hot date with a Chicken Vindaloo tonight - besides at my age, if I'm not in bed by 9.30, I'm such a grouch next day... Glorious sunshine and minus 3 here now, hoping for a good drive. Just programmed my satnav - S6 1SW - how cool is that?
If we lose I'll be in bed well before 9:30! But should we win, I'll keep my CAFC shirt on as long as the bar's allow me. Final thoughts on Pritchard an Russell.. Do we take a punt or go for that steady Eddie?! Does Haynes make the bench? With 20 minutes to go we could maybe need a game changer. Would he dare drop BWP?
