no one has mentioned this. Danny Haynes has signed. Do we now have too many strikers? Wouldnt a backup right back been a better option considering we just signed clarke?
18 months- suggests that the fee would be quite minimal. Think he will be ahead of Clarke in the squad tomorrow?
Sorry, yes it is - hidden ! http://www.cafc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10267~2575672,00.html 8 goals in 54 games for Bristol City is not exactly enthralling.
I'd assume both Clarke and Haynes will be on the bench, with Wagstaff dropped. Saying that, Powell said he see's Haynes more as a striker than a winger, so perhaps not.
Ha awesome! Had my Millwall housemate emailing me all day about how good he was on loan with them and about how there about to sign him, end there poor run and how he'd never pick a league one side over a champ one...i'm going to enjoy the next few hours
I think I 'd be more at ease with our whole loan/transfer policy at the moment if I could convince myself the incoming players were actually better than what we've already got on board. Sorry - can't get excited about any of them. Cue hat-trick for Haynes/Clarke tomorrow...
I assume Kermit and BWP will not only start but play all or nearly all 90 minutes whenever they are fit. We now have 5 other strikers- Clarke; Haynes; Hayes; Smith; Popo and also Euell when he returns from Wimbledon hoping to play. I hate to say it but it reminds me of when pardew bought a shed-load of strikers(and played 4-5-1)
Tewks you gravy smuggler why should we sign players that are better than the first 11, the first 11 is good as it is, we need to sign squad players for the run-in and that's what we're doing, I am very happy, all we have really done is swap Benson and Euell for Clarke and Haynes, good biscuits, up front is now sorted, just need a reserve left winger (if Hulk doesn't come back), and a couple of reserve centre halves (if Cort doesn't come back) and we're sorted, also don't forget we need to sign as many players as possible this season so we have people to sell when the new rules come in next season.
some days i go down the valley and have a moment. i look around and think "yeah, i'm with thousands of like minded people". some days i dont.....
haynes is an interesting one :/ I'd like to see Hayes go, I liked him but as it's been said too many strikers at the moment, I want Smith to go on loan and gain some first team games. I'd be more interested in signing a RB to be honest, maybe these strikers are so BWP and Kermo don't get complacent thinking they are the first team by right rather then form. The pace of Haynes up front though could be great, but yeah... lets see how this turns out
Yeah, why don't we want players that are better than the first team? Ridiculous idea tewkes, improving the playing squad- pah. That shows a lack of ambition.
Cort is an excellent signing am pleased with haynes as has been said benno Euell out Clarke Haynes in good bisness by CP.
Yeah, sorry I missed it as I wasn't online that day, not sure why other people on here are rinsing my tulips, the policy now has to be to sign as many people as we possibly can in January even if we end up loaning most of them out, it's the only way to get in the PL under the new rules.
