I need to step back and ponder whats happened in the last few days. 1).....We have lost Will Atkinson..........Hulls new manager Nick Barmby has recalled him back to Hull..........Hull fans can't understand why.........some fans comment that they don't think playing for a team heading for the Conference will do him any good.............some think that maybe Barmby might have a buyer lined up..........how successful was he at Argyle ?........second highest scorer with four goals 2).....Hemmings signs until the end of season.........good move......we would of definately missed him. 3).....Joe Lennox released by Bristol City, never played league football for them.....was loaned to Bath for awhile..........signed until end of season..........I expect that gives us time to see if there is a future for him at PAFC.........up to him to prove it. 4).....Maxime Blanchard staying until end of season.........reasonably successful worth holding on to. 5).....Paul Wotton released by Yeovil.not guaranteed regular first team football by new manager. Wotton could be an inspired return.......or a complete disaster........will he fit into a team captained by Walton.........will he be able to cope with Fletcher as manager.........where is the senior management to keep things peaceful..........between Fletcher,Walton,Purse and Wotton if things get hairy. 6).....James Brent asked about Warnock.......comments that there has been no approach to him. Does he mean that he hasn't approached him personally or that no one at PAFC have engaged in anyway at all or something else ? 7).....Saturdays meeting.......big regarding PAFC's future.......what might be revealed.........has Brent lined up his Directors yet......has he replacing Ridsdale with someone new.........how will he involve the fanbase.....but keep control of PAFC and it's future...........all will be revealed on saturday.
Just on Wotton's likely relationships with others - nobody is likely to ever have been more committed to PAFC in the past or to be more committed in the future. If he falls out with a few others, what does it say about those others?
Heard a snippet of Brent talking on Radio Devon yesterday,he very much inferred that Fletcher was the man for the job-hope very much it's not a case of the fans saying "told you so" after the last game of the season.
As I understand it aka he also did not say never to Warnock approach either. Bit of political style speak maybe and we don't know if he really means it or not. Not to say Warnock hasn't approached us with a suggestion is it just that we haven't approached him. Don't that one has run it's course completely just yet and we will see. There absolutely was a flurry of activity in the comings and goings yesterday. Interesting that no news regarding Bhasera yet. Lets face it most expect him to go. All in all the comings could have been worse. We have a few fresh faces and have secured the main ones we wanted to retain. Now it's down to the results and a wait and see.
There is a thread on ATD which is entitled "things I heard this morning". Suggest you take a read and report back here as soon as you have.
Very encouraged by the "flurry of activity" this week, as for the denials regarding Warnock and the backing of Fletch don't these usually mean the kiss of death to the manager. JUST SAYING!
I know it's on another forum but go and read the thread I've suggested. You may just find it interesting regarding who may or may not be coming.
Belay the last. Just been over for an update read and that thread is now accepted as a wind up so has no truth in it at all. One thing to keep you off that site might be a new poster by the name of "Steelthunderballs".
Mrs LaLa.............just re-read your post of yesterday 5.15 pm..............very suttle use of words,........I quote........... " flurry of activity" .........you just can't leave BoBo out of anything can you.
