Nah he had "studs showing" so that means red and only a three match ban.

Yeah with the the stupid static penalties that muppets talk of when they say
That guy above deserved far more than a 3 game ban, same for Pepe.

Walker is working fine for our strategy as we spend alot of time attacking....recently as much as 65-35 possesion at the end of alot of matches has been in Spurs's favour...he can be wanting a bit when it actually comes to defending..he recovers well from lost possesion etc however...i havent seen Kelly much at all to pass judgement but if he understands the art of defending then he will probably be classed as a slightly better 'defender' than Walker...and that is what probably evens out their respective talents.

I wonder how people would feel had Lescott had done the same challenge on Johnson ...

I'd say the same as I've said for the Spearing, Milijas, Kompany and Johnson challenges...each player went in strong and won the ball so what's the problem? I can honestly say if Lescott had tackled like that and won the ball fair and square then I'd have absolutely no problem with it...in fact I'd applaud him for it.

Football is supposed to be a battle, a game of blood and thunder and not just fancy flicks and skills. I want footballers to show passion and commitment (coupled with respect for opponents) and I dread the day (which isn't far away) when football becomes a game bereft of any players who will put everything on the line for their clubs.

    i'd agree to a point.

maradonna was kicked to bits i nthe 80s and contrast him to say messi..

I am confident messi will be as great in 5 years time or better but back in the day a team could just kick him out of the game without recourse to the really obvious fouls. for me these debate on two footed stuff is actually not the big deal ,the point of the rules should be to stop guys kicking good players out of the game.

A guy kicking a guy full force i nthe back of the ankle when both are standing is as bad as a guy sliding for 10 yards

It wasn't the same on appearance though, which would have influenced the ref.

Kompany came from behind and through Nani.
