Simon, I think you should be aware that the decision to move on is now up to Snoddy, not me or the club. The fee's may still need to be settled, but the initial discussions have gone well and all those involved appear content with leaving things to Snoddy. One thing I will say, leaving Leeds will not be easy for him, but he wants to play at the highest level and this may be the right time to do so. It may be that in the end he decides to wait until the summer before making a decision, I personally wish that to be the case. Edit: The fee will be nowhere near the fee's some Leeds fans appear to think, he may command a fee of around £2.5 - £3.5m, but that's at the top end, certainly not the £7 - £12m as some people have suggested.
You change your mind more than the english weather!. last month you said he'd already signed a pre-contract agreement and he was definately going in january
No I did not and I would suggest you check your facts before you post such lies. I stated that Snoddy had been offered a contract by a EPL club and that Leeds had accepted it, the issue was that Leeds did not want to loose Snoddy at the same time as Gradel as there could be an impact on this from supporters. Even Bates isn't that stupid he would allow for such a thing to happen. The club concerned have remained interested and have once again offered a contract to Snoddy and a fee to Leeds for his services. The rest as I stated is up to Snoddy. J'sus, what is it with some people...
Well bates is the one that said snoddy is worth 8m and he will not go for less than that so i kinda find that a bit hard to believe that its around 2.5-3.5 especially considering we got offered more than that in the summer from norwich. Personally boab, I highly doubt what you are saying. Even if snoddy does leave, I still wont believe you knew anything about it
We were NOT offered a deal from Norwich, I have no idea where you got that from, perhaps other forums of people who know nowt. There was two EPL clubs showing interest in Snoddy during the summer and one of them backed this up with a contract offer and fee to the club, the other decided to wait until the January window. There was other clubs interested, including a few Championship clubs, but they appeared unwilling to pay the fee Leeds asked for and backed down. There is not a chance in hell of any EPL club offering £8m or above for Snoddy and to think otherwise is just foolish. You can decide to accept what I am saying or read it with the scepticism you wish, I personally don't care, what will be will be and when it happens, then perhaps some will appreciate some others are correct.
Well, pretty much every single thing regarding football said we turned down an offer from norwich (including paul lamber, simon grayson and Ken Bates). After that bates said the 8m price tag, the point of this price tag was not to try and get clubs to bid that. It was saying we dont want to sell our best players and we do not need sell our best players so if you want them you need to pay double what they are worth. Why sell a player we do not need to sell for his true value. You are wrong on this one boab

Can you evidence anything official that states Norwich offered Leeds a contract to Snoddy and a fee to the club and that Leeds turned this down? I don't mean footie forums or anything from journalists, actual official online documents. I would suggest you won't be able to as this did not happen. I would very much doubt a man such as Paul Lambert would state what his club has offered in the transfer market, unless he had got the player, so again can you provide official evidence? As for Bates, he lies about everything and anything, everyone close to club knows that, it's taken as just his way. Snoddy is a good player, nobody is denying that, but the facts are he plays in the 2nd league of England, after spending a few seasons playing in the 3rd league of England, he doesn't get automatic selection for his country (not even making the squad of late) and played in the lower leagues of Scotland for most of his career. You can't put a price of around £8m on a player with that kind of credentials and to do so, is just a joke. The fee will be between £2.5 - £3.5m, possibly less if he gets nearer to the end of his contract, there may be small add ons to any fee, but it will not be anywhere near £8m
2 Snoddies for the price of a Delph! Bargain. Personally I think the eventual price (if it happens) will be our customary 'undisclosed fee'.
bigfatboab, if i get some time I'll look it up for you but for now here is the Sky article (obviously that doesnt mean it has happened but in truth i trust them more than i trust you) http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/6964101/Norwich-fail-in-Snodgrass-bid
Im sure i will be able to find an interview where Lambert said they had a failed bid for snodgrass, i just dont have the time right now
well its common knowledge that they did make a bid, or enquired and were told hes not for sale unless you offer a ridiculous amount (8million), so i wouldnt waste your time lad
Common knowledge doesn't mean it is actually fact. I'll say this again and for the last time, Norwich did not offer Leeds £8m for Snoddy during the last transfer window and whilst they may be interested in him as a player, they have never offered any deal to the player. The club that have offered a deal and are willing to negotiate with Leeds over the fee was not and is unlikely to be Norwich City. Take from this what you like.....
We sold Gradel for cheap. In the summer Snodgrass will have only a year left, so anyone thinking that the club will be holding out for £8million, is being ridiculous. If Snodgrass goes in the summer, it won't be for more than £4million at the very most. That's a lot of money for a Championship club. The figure quoted for Norwich in the press was around 3-3.5million, and if they offer the same in the summer, I reckon there'd be a good chance it would be accepted.
