BAE is good to watch going forward, but he isn't a class defender by any means. ....and he wears stupid boots
Have to agree. Sagna is a great RB. But there's no way he'd be ahead of Santos and BAE at LB - that's just stupid talk.
So Gerd Muller is currently better than any of your strikers, is he? Do any of them have an international record of better than a goal a game over more than 60 games? Checkmate. (Have I sunk to his level yet?)
Ronaldinho's a World player of the year who still plays, you don't have any so by your logic we'd have an advantage if we took him on a two month loan. Experience and more importantly, experience of success is great but it only counts for so much.
------------chesney Sagna--Koss----Verm----Whoever spurs leftback is ------Song-----Wilshere ---Walcott---VDV/Modric--Gervinho -------------RVP That would be my mixed team, Maybe swap walcott with VDV/Modric and play both of them, Song beats parker mainly because he's younger, Sagna, Szneznky koss and verm an wilshere are just class.... gervinho is better than Bale IMO
Amazing - have you ever watched Spurs? Perhaps looking at the league table might help too in deciding where the quality is currently
Sure thing - but at the moment we've got more points than you over this season and the whole of last season taken together, which hardly suggests the sort of selection that MrWright! posted
Only a fool would say that Spurs don't have better quality in depth at the mo, however Arsenal at least have the experience of finishing in these high positions whereas you have not had a serious tilt at the title since goodness knows when. Your most difficult matches are still to come, starting in a couple of weeks I think How you manage to negotiate Man City, Us, Chelsea and Liverpool away; and Man United at home will tell us more about what Spurs are made of as they have only played 4 of the current top 10 away from home, and won exactly once.
I would probably pick Bale over Walcott as well, but just checked the stats of last season (in which Bale somehow won PFA Player of the Year award) and Walcott doesn't look so bad now: Appearances / Actual minutes played / goals scored / goals assisted Gareth Bale: 31 / 2537 / 7 / 2 Theo Walcott: 28 / 1692 / 9 / 7 Walcott played the full 90 minutes of a game on only 8 occasions, whereas Bale played 26 games without being subbed on/off. And Theo still had the better record. My NL-team: ------------------------------Szczesny-------------------------- -----Sagna----------Koscielny---------Vermaelen--------BAE*---- ----------------------Modric----------Wilshere------------------- ----Gervinho/Walcott-------van der Vaart----------Bale----------- -----------------------------van Persie-------------------------- *If Santos settles in and reaches the form he had at Fenerbache, he is better than Assou-Ekotto. Both are rather weak at the back but Santos is even stronger going forward.
I never get involved in these who is better than who discussions but would anyone warn about paying too much notice to stats .... goal assists can depend on a tean mate being able to actually finish and as for minutes played it depends against who ... peter crouch has an outatanding record for scoring for england but look at who hes scored against. Not trying to have a dig but just think the opta stats can be misleading sometimes.
THey are better than us while we've been suffering from significant injuries, but we'll see who's better once we have our players fit
What's wrong with my team? Parker would be there if he wasn't about 10 years older than song And i did say maybe Swap walcott with VDV/Modric so the front 4 would be Modric---VDV--Gervinho --------RVP Bales got about 7 goals in 31 and barely any assists, lennon has very few goals, and not many assists. Gervinho is still settling in and already has plenty of assists and a handful of goals!
