http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11787/7424819/O-Dea-keen-on-Leeds-stay I bet he wants a ****ing permanent move i swear to god grayson, do not sign this useless ****. He is possibly your worse signing so please dont make it worse by signing him permanently. Bring in a proper defender, ya know some one who can actually defend and head the ball and stuff and doesnt make not only the fans nervous but the players playing alongside him nervous. He is the most accident prone defender i have ever seen. Obviously this is only from O'Dear's point of view so nothing actually to suggest we will but if grayson does sign him permanently as is O'Dear's wish, i will lose all respect for grayson entirely
Utter garbage pretend professional footballer, he has no right to be anywhere near Leeds Utd. A joke that we have him and a disgrace if he was signed on permanently. I will return to ER and make my feelings known about this guy everytime he plays, until he is forced out. He is ****e, utter ****e.
I'm pretty worried that Grayson will see him as a quick fix for the current CB problem. We're under pressure to bring someone in, and we've all heard the "he knows the club and the setup well after being here on loan" excuses before. I just hope he sees sense and goes for a more solid permanent option.
He's not that bad. Currently our 2nd best CB, makes the odd mistake which is where he gets most of the reputation from but most of the time he's solid enough. Decent player who I'd take as back up to Lees and a new CB.
He's not a favourite of mine, but I agree with you Simon. The other factor worth considering is that he pops in the odd goal for us. Very few of our CBs have done that in the recent past.
Do Bates and Grayson pay you to troll the forum by any chance? I have just caught up on several threads, as per usual you defend EVERYTHING slightly negative and as I scrolled down this post I was surprised to not find you on here defending O'Dea and sure enough here we go 2nd best, not that bad and the usual ****e.
Nowhere other than not606 do I see people being so hostile to O'Dea. He's not perfect and ideally we'd have someone better, but he puts his neck on the line rather than back off like a lot of defenders do. Certainly not worth the criticism he gets on here just because he hada poor rep with Ipswich and made an error or two on the telly.
I am not keen on him, don't agree he is our second best defender, Lees, Connolly and White are all in front of him as far as I am concerned.
Sorry, would you prefer if I said everything was **** like you do? I'm surprised we're not bottom of the table the way you go on.
If you're going to criticise, then get it right! No-one claimed that he was the 2nd best defender - it was 2nd best CB!! And much though I like White, I would say his defensive duties are the worst part of his game!
No I would prefer you to give a slightly more balanced opinion but then I would also like Bates to dip his hand into the pockets Leeds fans are lining and bring us in some quality that we need so two miracles would be too much right now. Corrected I stand on the CB comment.
I'd take him as a backup to Lees and another new CB sure, my concern is that he might be brought in as that new CB. If that's the case, I really don't think the problem has been addressed.
There's a difference between balance and pessimism. The fact is this is a thread about O'Dea and I said I think he isn't that bad and would keep him as back-up. I don't see what the problem is there. If I really did think O'Dea was terrible I'd say so.
There is no defending of O'Dea and to try to do so, is simply pathetic. He is exactly what you see, a poor excuse of a professional footballer, who has made a career out of something he is simply not capable of. I have an advantage over most of you on this forum, in that I often watch Celtic and I can tell you that for the years O'Dea made the odd first team appearance, he was without any shadow of a doubt that worst player ever to wear the famous green and white and that's really saying something. He needs to be told just how bad he is and how he should find another career.
No he doesn't, they ditched him just after he came to us, once the contract with Leeds is over he is a free agent.
As a matter of interest, Boab, how often have you been to see Leeds in the flesh this season? Or have you been assessing him on TV? This is not a defence of O'Dea, I'm simply curious.
I've only been to five games at ER this season and two away game, due to my own stance against the club and in particular Bates. I have watched O'Dea play for Celtic and Celtic reserves, as well as the Irish team. Like many others I have watched him play for us live on Sky or Bbc and like many others been totally unimpressed with his ability.
