There is a tendency at this level for managers to collect strikers with different skills- one is finisher, one is good in the air, one has pace, one can link up play etc. Unfortunately, you're only allowed 11 players on the pitch and 5 on the bench! Would Haynes and Clarke both be on the bench? What then for Waggy? We wouldn't need Ephraim as well would we? Cort is a no brainer really, he's our 3rd choice CB, do we really want Doc on the bench against wednesday?
Our Strikers BWP- finisher Kermorgant- Allround Clarke- Powerful? Hayes- Link UP Haynes- Pace Good range but like said weve got to many now if we get haynes maybe selling benson for clarke was a bad deal
One injury to BWP and we wont have too many. Don't think it's the end of Hayes as has been pointed out how he's beeen looking for a move down this way for years to be nearer family plus Haynes would be more the BWP replacement.
Add Smith to that list. OK he's only 19 or 20 but if he's not on the fringes by now how will he ever get past that lot?
''Charlton have had a bid accepted according to Sky now, not so worried about him but Powell has bought well, Dale Stephens, Danny Green, Paul Hayes and Bradley Wright-Phillips are the kind of players we should have been in for.'' More likely out on loan, I think Eastbourne - poor reward really for his early season form - I won't go on about this though, because it's already been covered in another thread. Looks like we may be in the process of trying to resurrect another career with Haynes. The Bristol City supporters at work both said roughly the same thing - quick, but runs out of ideas. Don't get this one at all. Quite relaxed about Cort, looks decent enough cover for the CBs, if not as quick or decisive as either of them.
