...although reading some of the responses on the "Let's not gloat" thread I'm sorely tempted to...

I actually wanted to see what some of you guys thought about the match today. Whilst Arsenal had more chances and possession (and yes, Arshavin's goal should have stood), the match report makes it sound like both sides created 2-3 clear chances each, which is not typical for you guys at the Emirates. When you lost to West Brom and Newcastle, and drew with City, I thought the matches were pretty one sided and the results against the run of play, but not so much today.

Do you think today's result was just due to some of your best players being out, or is the pressure starting to tell after the CC loss? You did have Wilshire, Nasri and Arshavin playing who, imo, have been some of your stand out performers this season, and Sunderland's injury crisis is arguably just as bad as yours.

I don't want to start the whole "Arsenal always collapse" bs again, just wanted to see what you guys think. Momentum seemed to shift to Arsenal after our loss to Chelsea, but this draw has arguably shifted it straight back to Utd...and at this stage of the season that could be crucial...

Meh, this result is a lot of what football is about. Disappointment mainly but I can't completely get rid of the hope that you might still lose tomorrow.

Lol, sorry syd, I should have said no offence to Sunderland intended! I'm not trying to take anything away from Sunderland, and from what I can tell you guys bossed much of the first half. But surely when you go to the Emirates, even if you play as well as you can, you know you're going to need Arsenal to be below their best to come away with anything? Likewise as OT and SB.

Well Arsenal fans certainly won't be blaming the officials after the amount of stick they gave us for doing so.

In their own word's, "it's just part of the game".

Ah, but we rarely benefit from bad decisions, and we are more often on the receiving end, whereas United do, for whatever reason, get more decisions than other clubs.

As for the game, we were probably the better team, but lacked the quality of Fabregas, Walcott and van Persie in the final third; we didn't really look like scoring.

All teams get decisions for and against them. It's just funny how a lot of Arsenal fans bleat on about conspiracies and referee bias but then slate Man Utd for complaining about officials.

On previous seasons we might well have lost that game

I thought we did enough to win the game personally. Sunderland played well and defended brilliantly. The tug then push on Arshavin was definitely a pen, and then again he was called offside when replay's showed he was level, we also hit the bar, so overall we were unfortunate not to get all 3pts. I think we're missing Fab, RVP, Theo, but the team today were good enough for a win.

I don't think the momentum has shifted back to Utd at all - from last week we are one point closer and with a tough game against Liverpool, we could be level on points this time next week.

There is less pressure on Man Utd for tomorrow though. Had Arsenal won today then a win would have been absolutely necessary for Man Utd tomorrow.

If you believe that then you're badly mistaken. Pressure is on Utd tomorrow no doubt. Ask any of the players and they would tell you the same.

I mean we can afford to lose and will still have advantage over you due to our superior goal difference (unless we get spanked). I can't wait for tomorrow's match to be over though as Liverpool always fight for their lives against us.

Arsenal missed a trick today by not winning, this would have put pressure on United but it will raise the all to familiar questions about Arsenal not being man enough to take it by the horns for a sixth successive year. Its a chance wasted and with just 10 games left they won't get too many more. But Arsenal still have a major say as they have to play United at the Emeroids and if they win that its on again. So its still in Arsenals own hands..........Will they take it?..........Recent history says no but United are not as good as previous years.

    Says it all really...

The pressure is definitely on, but not so much as it would have been had you won. If the gap was 1 point, we'd have to win to stay on top. As it is, we can afford to draw and still stay at least a point clear for this round of matches, which will ease the pressure a little.

I see the Arsenal mod Goonercymraeg is trying to provoke an arguement out of nothing.
