Good Morning All, Bates has said that an unnamed played did not leave the club this week as the chain fell through. I just hope that it wasn't one of our young starlets.... It does make you think though, when are we going to get rid of our dead wood? He has also hinted that players need to leave before anyone else comes in.... Lets hope we don't miss out on any potential big name signings. Robbie savage (commentating on ESPN) was pelted with hot dogs, coins etc during the match. Is this just a bit of banter, or unacceptable behaviour???
Not sure about the coins but think the hotdogs was funny, Love the leeds fans on twitter using the hashtag #Hotdog
I'll take that with a pinch of salt from Bates I think. We've heard plenty of "oh it almost happened" excuses about various deals. If it is the case that we need to move people on, why haven't we shifted AOB and Connolly yet? It's pretty clear they aren't going to play again. As for the Savaging, while hotdogs sounds hilarious, I do agree with Wickersley in that it just gives the media another reason to tar us all with the same brush.
To be fair I don't think the media have ever given us a chance anyway, Leeds Uniteds name was already dirt to most of the footballing world it goes with the likes of Millwall and Cardiff already at rock bottom so can't get any worse
True YWBK, guess we already have that image. I'm not a Savage fan anyway, cant get on with someone who buys seven pairs of trainers and makes a little boy carry them for him!
Coins not, but hot dogs ok. Savage deserves everything he gets after all the crap he says about our club. Whoever thought it would be great to have the pundits outside in front of the Leeds end should be shot for inciting trouble.
A bit off subject I know, but can anyone tell me why Johnsons tackle last night was not even deemed a booking, yet that citys lad was a sending off. Where is the consistency?
Oh while I'm on my rant. whats with rooney flashing imaginary cards, just another trite that the foreign brigade have brought to the game. Then's there's fergie backing his player for doing something that he has moaned about happening to his own shower of c**ts.
Alright shako, Didn't see the Johnson tackle so can't help you out there. Do think that the Kompany red was harsh and sets a dangerous standard though. If we start seeing players sent off for more tackles like that then we can expect to see teams finishing with 9 players more often. I'm all for punishing dangerous tackles and making sure horrific injuries aren't caused, but that just wasn't the case, and hasn't been the case with a few straight reds I've seen this season. As for flashing imaginary cards, that REALLY gets my back up. Like you say it's come over with the Spanish players. The best way to deal with it is to calmly ask the player which card they are asking for, and then show it back to them.
Shaks The inconsistency with the referees is whats wrong, 2 footed challenge should be a red then all refs stick by that rule no arguements but when not every ref will send people off for it thats when its open for debate! Same with players crowding the ref, if they crowd the ref then it should be a yellow card
Morning Kissa. Durham there is the link for the tackle. http://www.caughtoffside.com/2012/0...-during-liverpool-man-city-carling-cup-clash/
Cheers for the link, I'd agree if they are going to send Kompany off for his, then Johnson should have walked for that in terms of consistency. BUT yes it's two footed, but he looked in control, his feet were on the floor and he got the ball. I wouldn't say it was particularly reckless. That's exactly the kind of tackle that I think is over punished to be fair.
I agree, but IMO if the city lad got sent off for a near identical tackle, johnson should have got a yellow at least, regardless of getting the ball or not.
Absolutely, if refs are gonna punish that sort of challenge, they need to punish every challenge like it.
Completely agree Durham. If I was a ref, I'd only book or send them off for the severity of the tackle, not what might have happened if the tackle had connected.
Just watched the vid and it looks a lot worse than Kompany's. Kompany seemed to go in with one foot and got the ball cleanly, and as he was sliding in it's only natural his other one would follow soon after ! From the angle the ref saw it it probably looked like a two footed tackle but I would disagree and don't think it warranted a red card. Johnson though is a different story - a two footed airborne lunge. Very lucky to stay on the pitch. Two wrong decisions for me - so there's your consistency Kissa !
As I'm on a roll this morning I like to show how there are double standards regarding racism. It's seems that if you're black it's ok to moan and whinge about being called this and that and it's talked about in the papers, tv, radio, goverment etc. But when you're Irish(as in Pat Fenlons case) its ok to be abused. But because he didn't make a song or dance about it, it went away very quickly. http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport...buse-but-refuses-to-make-it-an-issue.16440077
