It's disgraceful but it doesn't surprise me, when you have idiots like Mancini running about the place. Gerrard was spot on when he said Mancini was a hypocrite for lambasting Rooney for saying Kompany's tackle was a red when he is now saying EXACTLY the same thing about Johnson.

With the current rules on 2 footed tackles, I can see it soon that we will be averaging a sending off every game. This rule needs sorting ASAP, its gettin silly

mancini wasnt having a go at LFC or Johnson. If anything he was having a go at refereeing inconsistency

SG got the wrong end of the stick IMO, could be the interviewers fault or could be defence at all costs

Might as well have stayed at home to watch the match, from where I was standing the ball was constantly up the opposite end, Liverpool in the first half and second half I can't remember the ball coming over the half way line. City fans were ****, nothing like what I heard on the TV sunday, we were awesome though.

Both Kompany and Johnson's tackles were sendings off - two footed challenges aren't permitted and studs were showing. I don't understand why people are arguing against this?

Yes, Kompany won the ball cleanly and didn't cause any damage to Nani (unfortunately!) but that doesn't mean it wasn't a dangerous challenge.

A ball could be in mid air and I can stick my foot up (chest height) and narrowly miss the opposing player. Just because I missed doesn't mean that it wasn't dangerousl Imagine what would have happened if Kompany had mistimed the challenge and then think of the consequences.

So it wasn't a penalty then because Agger had his foot in the air first?

This ^ <ok> I think some of you were watching a different game to me. We were outstanding in the first half. I thought Johnson had a great game, as did Bellamy. Apart from the one mistake, Kelly was good, as were Skertl and Agger. Carroll did OK. Stood up well to force a good save from Hart. Gerrard outstanding in the first half. I think he tired a bit in the second. Down side. Adam was crap again. Anyone know how bad Spearing's injury is?

Lighten up you lot. We beat them on their own patch and played better than the mancs doing it <ok>

If Johnson hadn't gone in two footed here then his trailing leg would have clearly caught Lescot risking injury for both players.

To be fair he did dive it. However, his studs were never showing to Lescott and he had won the ball before the City player arrived. For me it was a good tackle. But if you are going to give red cards to Spearring and Kompany then you have to be consistent.

As with the majority of issues that the FA control its been handled very badly. BTW, Liverpool should have had a foul in their favour as the City player's foot makes contact with Johnson's arse - NOW that is a foul and very offensive!

well guys in fairness now it was highly dangerous. carroll got away with one in the first half you know and nobody is complaining about it.

the fact is it was full force and extremely high energy so like oh i dunno... shawcross on ramsey we should know the outcome potentially.

in the end i think we got away with it but all city can get form that foul is a few mins still against a parked bus and another player sent off... they shouldn't complain or wave imaginary red cards and then karma would not strike as it has done v utd and now v us i suppose.

Still... it was dangerous. timmy the camera angle you have looks fine, go get the other camera angle that shows the studs, the beeb showed it last night.

No disputing that he got the ball but both feet were off the ground, studs were showing and went in with both feet. If we were to make these tackles legitimate, then you will see more career threatening injuries.

    my review... in short.

    1. both clubs have complete numpties up front. I f andy carroll thinks he can get away with that kind of work rate up top on his own.... Bollotelli is a joke.

    2. LFc played very well up until the point spearing went off and we neded up parking the bus. a little suprising but the foul rate at least doubled once adam came on.

    3. deserved gao land pen, we played well in the lead in to it and got after city.

    4. Lines ups. Happy with lfc, thought enrique needed a rest but we were weak inthe full back slots with jonhson on the left... when i saw the city line up i felt good as there was nothing special in thier midfield. Aguero = special, the rest, not that good to be frank.... they missed silva badly.

Its always been a foul if a tackle like that caught the man, you see many career threatening injuries in football but only a few come from dangerous foul tackles.

I would guess the most common injury that forces early retirement is dodgy knees just through "wear and tear" from all the running they do, should we ban that too?

True - but generally wear and tear comes after a decades' + worth of professional football (i.e. generally after the age of 30). Can you see the difference between a career ending challenege when you're 23 years old and 'general wear and tear'?

I've just had a look at the city board. It's as populated by their fans as their ground is <doh>
