He told me he wouldn't negotiate with terrorist sympathisers.

He'll forget all about it and we'll have the same argument again in a few weeks.

Know what you mean. Got a ream of new material for the Iran thread but its getting the motivation to post it knowing the time you are going to have to devote to it as the same old people repeat the same old rhetoric

was thinking about the assasinations of Irans nuclear scientists myself

also thinking about doing one on logic and religion, you know the whole infinite regression and things not being logical when the fathers of logic (plato, aristiotle et al) would actually disagree with what some of these advocates of logic say

But can see it being 30 pages of PNP posting wiki links, SN23 posting pics and Jip losing sight of what he has said and then getting childish

yeah I was thinking that at one point

I actually found something Michael Portillo said on this week a while back quite interesting

Didnt know he had dual nationality (spanish and british wonder if thats why he wasnt ever PM material as well as being gay ofcourse)

Basically he was describing the spanish electoral system and how it was completely undemocratic, in a nutshell a committee puts forward the candidates, they dont have policies as such, people are given the names and vote (portillo votes) . The chosen candidate then openly ignores the public but panders to the committee that put him forward.

This is the thing what is annoying and funny for me

we all hear for example of the private army the likes of gaddafi had or saddam hussein and how they were evil basically because they did their job of protecting their head of state no matter what

I wonder if the same people view the Queens Guard in the same light?

They don't where a uniform to distinguish themselves from civilians. They are therefore unlawful combatants as stated in the Geneva convention. They also did not also carry there weapons openly, which is also illegal.

It was also illegal for them to carry their weapons not openly.

Old school warfare is finished. I urge you to read Noam Chomsky and his thoughts on modern war.

Why the **** would the IRA want to partake in something that would see them wiped out?

    geneva convention?

'British soldiers in Iraq were given the go-ahead by a military legal adviser to use interrogation techniques which broke the Geneva convention and army rules'

According to the prosecution the stress position has been banned in the British army since 1972 after an investigation into techniques used in Northern Ireland.

    oh and

A Glasgow theatre has had to change a pantomime costume after being told it was breaking the Geneva Convention.

The dress worn by Nurse Poltis in the Pavilion Theatre production of Robin Hood originally had red crosses on the hat and tunic.

These were changed to green crosses after the British Red Cross informed the theatre it was breaking the law and could face prosecution.

Unauthorised use of the emblem violates the Geneva Conventions Act 1957. <laugh>

My point exactly. This thread is just another load of hyporitical bull**** with both sides going around in circles and neither taking anything away from it. Can't complain about one sides ''atrocities'' if the side you are defending also does it. Pointless.
