    I offered him a bet to change his avatar to an Irish flag for a month if I could prove that I had written something that he insisted I hadn't.

    They did indeed and I would never defend such actions - but I would put them in context with the Americans dropping Chemical weapons on half of Indochina during their horrendous war in South East Asia.

    My argument would be that many Americans did not agree with the actions of their military and government and similarly some of us in Ireland have come from a background whereby we are proud Irish Republican in our own right but are not supportive of some of the criminal acts that were done by individuals in our name.
