They're stuggling thats for sure. This is their wobble.

    Look at Spurs now!

The League is there if someone wants it.

Kenny got tactics wrong for me tonight, far,far too negative, he made a defensive substitution after about 57 mins.If we are 1- 0 down, he normally waits til 65 - 70 mins to make the the 1st sub. Why, so he make the defensive subs earlier than the attackin ones

Really was backs to the wall 2nd half, but they created next 2 nothin, but sayin that somehow we managed not to concede, so perhaps his tactics were right.Certainly dont wantus to start playin the way we did 2nd half regularly

Hello we won 1-0! How many teams have done that? I agree he left to hoof ball in the end but it worked first half.

I dont mind us gettin men behind the ball, but we need more possesion, our ball retention 2nd half was poor,to a certain extent, the way we were playing ( our tactics) made it even harder work than it should have been

But heh oh , we won!!!

What did you want us to do? Go and play open and expansive football in the hope we "might" score a second goal against the league leaders who have the best home record in England & tightest defence?

Plenty of teams have found that doesn't work against City. Look at Spurs, tried to play open and got thrashed.. United got thrashed 6-1... Some people are never happy.

Tactics were spot on for me. Press them early and get an early goal then stay tight and let City try and pass their way through us without Silva/Toure. Our defence loko solid and Kenny has faith that we can sit back and not conceede. 2-3 years ago it wouldn't have worked as we were shaky at the back, but now we can do it.

Would you rather we play all out attacking football and lose 3-2 but everyone claps us for our "effort" in the same way Arsenal have been? Or score a goal, and get your tactics right and frustrate the opposition and win a cup?

    Johnson is a lucky lad.

I didn't enjoy that second half at all.

Very pleased with the result though :)

I reckon we should look at Kenny's choice of starting line up tonight(and why he made those choices),Kelly and Spearing would'nt have been most supporters choices and he gave Carra a game,it was a step up to the plate game and a reward for the youngsters contribution in the earlier rounds and Carra got a boost from Kenny from knowing that hes still a trusted defender as far as KK is concerned.

It was'nt pretty for most of the 2nd half but so what,City would love to have come away with a 1-0 win tonight but tough ****.

If anything I think Liverpool missed a trick by not finishing us off and we are fortunate to still be in the tie.First half Liverpool clearly wanted it more and were completely dominant, but for Joe Hart we would have gone in to the break deservedly 3-0 down.Penalty looked a soft one but I've not seen it again yet so couldn't tell and didn't think anything of the Johnson incident at the time so would need to see it again to comment.
Worst performance by city for quite sometime and the over reliance on Kompany, yaya and Silva is there for all to see. Yet another wretched performance from Adam Johnson and I was glad to see the back of Balotelli, never looked interested at any time while he was on.If there has ever been a poorer cameo coming on as a sub than Kolorovs,I've yet to see it.
So we must thank Liverpool for allowing us to come back still in with a sniff as we really should have been buried tonight

How the hell can anyone think this is a dangerous tackle? He got all of the ball and none of the man. If this is a straight red then tackling might aswell be banned.

Savic's tackle on Agger was worse the Kompany's on Nani on sunday.

Last time I saw a scouser get this excited about 1 leg was Paul McCartney with Heather Mills! <laugh> ... On the football note though i reckon they will get a draw/win vs you at anfield, should be a cracking 2nd leg though! And Balotelli looked injured to me mate, you've got the players you just need a decent manager

What's wrong with continuing to play as we did in the first half? We certainly wouldn't have been more likely to concede. We were so lucky city were terrible when we decided to park the bus. We just kept hoofing up to them for them to come back at us. It wasnt football. But I suppose the bigger pitcher is what counts though and in the end we won.

Tacklings getting a joke these days, it's like your not even allowed to make a decent tackle, Kompany clearly won the ball on Sunday and you know it couldn't have been bad because the biggest pussy in the premier league ( nani ) didn't even go down from it. Imagine some of the old people like Keane,Wise,Gazza playing at the moment they'd be sent off every 3 games lol

Clearly our tactics were dominate them from the get go, get a goal, sit on it.

We did that and Man City offered little to nothing.

Clearly no one remembers our Champions League matches where we would do the exact same thing.

Great performance, great result, no complaints.
