11/01/2012 by David McIntyre QPR are close to securing a deal to make the Warren Farm Sports Centre near Osterley Park their training ground. Rangers have been searching for a new training facility for some time and three possible locations have been identified. But the Warren Farm site is their first choice and could be their base by the start of next season. The clubâs Harlington training ground is well below Premier League standard and Rangers have long been keen to move elsewhere. Their future plans were the key to convincing Mark Hughes to succeed the sacked Neil Warnock as manager this week. http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-want-warren-farm-training-ground/?
Crikey, I used to play at WF when I was at school. I assumed it had been given over to housing by now!
Nope, its derelict now, would be a complete bulldoze and of course the pitches would need lots of work, Im struggling to see how it could be ready for next season.
They will soon get fed with the traffic (sing)up and down the Uxbridge Road to get in Queens Park Rangers.(stop singing)...............................training ground
Old joke! But he's on the bench again tonight..... Livermore who has been mentioned is having a good game.
By Paul Warburton Jan 11 2012 THE Warren Farm Sports Complex is set to become QPRâs new training ground â and one of the reasons Mark Hughes became the clubâs new manager this week. Rs ambitions to develop the 59-acre site in Windmill Lane that borders Southall and Osterley, and provide a state of the art complex for both the Premier League Club and the community, is within weeks of being finalised with owners London Borough Of Ealing council. Hughes was unveiled as the man to replace the sacked Neil Warnock on Tuesday, and ironically returned to the place he trained as a Chelsea player when he took his first session as Rs boss the following day. But the Imperial Sports Ground at Harlington is past its sell-by date according to Hughes, and plans for not only a new stadium to replace Loftus Road, but a training ground worthy of a Premier League club was a clincher in securing Sparkyâs return to west London 16 months after he quit Fulham. âHarlington is also 10 years older since I was last there,â said Hughes, âand I realised the Rangersâ ambitions were mine as well with the various exciting plans they have in place.â QPR have slated two other possible sites for its new training base, but the rundown Warren Farm complex is the favoured choice by a distance. Sorry if this is boring you CB, of course a new training facility is old news. But i can't recall hearing/seeing Warren Farm confirmed. Think this is relevant news.
Im back after a wee break in Holland! Lovely it was! It seems to me that the majority of names getting mentioned seem to be the same as when Neil was in charge. Hughes may have something up his sleeve though..........nope just a handkerchief!!
Don't think so - somewhere W12/ near Westfield has huge advantages for pulling in 'casuals'/ tourists and transport links for non footy events. Plus the Council are keen for us to stay, and will slap restrictions on the sale of Loftus Road if we try to leave the Borough.
You got Warnocks sacking right which was your first correct prediction in over 6 months. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Note this is more directed at your **** sources than you personally. I remember on the old 606 when we had Priskin on loan and you told us all how are next opponents were going to deal with him (or leave him to self destruct) as well as some solid information. It's like a game of mousetrap. You have the trusty old tip of the bucket to send the ball on its way but that bastard of a diver is going to miss the pool and make everyone dissapointed.
