Seriously!? Look at how Lawrenson sits in the studio: his script is in front of him & he doesn't write it. Retired is his definition. ..he can't believe people keep paying him...
i thought that kenny brought bellamy off just to keep the carroll bashers off his back but we lost all the pace up front and invited city on saying that it is a good result.
Good result. Stevie was great. Back four solid bar Kelly's slip up. Carroll had a decent game - forced a good save from Hart, directed a good header with power (recalling last season at Newcastle). Won a few tackles and headers at the end - especially those last two defensive headers were just what we needed. However, he did show a poor touch on occasion, as is all too common at the moment.
this is not a league game.it is a knock out competition.all we need is a draw at home.but we gonna win it too!
Take a look at Jockey or Barney or Aldo etc and you'll see that LFC are still their team/club irrespective of their media work.Lawrenson is the exception and shows his disregard for us almost every time he opens his grid.
don't like watching such negative football but chuffed with the result. re. the Glen Johnson challenge, i think the difference was Kompanys was through the player so looked worse than Johnsons. however, neither should be a red.. the rule is ridiculous. Looking forward to the game at Anfield and a LFC win, YNWA!
no out ball in the second half - badly missing spearing when he went off and suarez would have made a huge difference
Evening lads, just got back from Swans training with the boy, watched the game though. Good win 2 straight home defeats for City, how will they respond? Dalglish got the tactics right imo we worked hard and got our reward in the 1st half and dug in when we had the goal.
We did what we had to tonight, Grabbed the early goal and sat back and defended that league the whole match after that, it wasn't pretty but I'm certainly not complaining. Skrtel has to be the man of the match today, he was first to everything but Adam was pretty poor when he came on. Also I thought the Johnson Tackle was a red, it was very dangerous and if it was a few more seconds later he could of seriously injured the player, players will certainly be sent off for a lot worse this season.
I think that in today's climate, maybe it could have been a red, although I think this "rule" seriously needs to change as football is turning more and more into a non-contact sport.
I think Adam has played his way out of the first 11 recently certainly seems that Henderson is ahead of him to play with Gerrard and a defensive midfielder. Never a sending off he got all of the ball and nowhere near contact with the man. Like the commentator said there is no rule that says if its two footed its a red only if its reckless. I believe he was always under control and not in danger of catching the man. Any contact it would have been yeah
mancini complained about the tackle after the game - should savic have been sent off for catching agger over his knee - if johnsons was a red then savic should have gone - looked like the ref forgot his cards tonight ps. Another masterclass in apathy from balotelli
I meant if refs are to be consistent and if you compared them to some other red cards this season it should be a red card. It's just the rules now, although my first impression of it was a great tackle, I think when it was slowed down it made it look a lot worse than it was
So we take the Prem League leaders to the cleaners on their own pitch in the 1st half and go one goal up(should/could have been more) and sit back in the 2nd half and soak up the home sides pressure. Kenny got his tactics spot on and we've got one foot in the final. Yet SSN are reporting the game as if we've been lucky and commited an anti football sin.
