I refuse to get carried away about this. I was really excited about Grella when he came over at first. Ended up having a great record with Leeds, didn't he?

And with that video, why is the last 30 seconds of it just different clips of him walking round the pitch?

Grella showed some really good touches and a powerful shot, I still thought he was gonna make it but then when he got so angry when on loan with swindon and then a combination of bad attitude and frustration had set in, it was always gonna be the end of his leeds career after that

True ebough, Josh, but how long did it take to come to the boil? The lad just never got the chance. As they used to say about Ally McCoist - 'he sat on the bench so much they called him the Judge'! Grella was lucky to get an occasional 5 minutes. You need longer than that to establish yourself as a super-sub, far less regular starter. I blame Grayson for the situation. Should have been resolved one way or the other much sooner.

yea thats a fair enough statement. Didnt really get a chance to prove himself although grayson may have seen that he wasn't ready in training

When he did get the chance he never shined!

He needed to take a look at Somma and see what he did!

Refusing to go on loan to Bradford City didnt help his cause either

I thought he looked pretty **** in that vid. When taking on players he seemed to do the wrong thing everytime. When a defender is standing in frnot of you, with their legs wide open, naturally you should play it through their legs and run round them, not drag the ball back, turn a couple of times and run blindly in whatever direction you end up facing.

I think that he was being eased out of the wage bill by the time the Bradford move came along. Any contribution from them was eagerly received.

I have to take issue about Somma, though (and I think I might get a bit of pain here). Somma has done nothing for Leeds to earn him the status he seems to be afforded for a lot of people. He had a great run as a supersub, and then a shortish in & out spell as a regular. Scored a few goals, too. Played well on his own up front? No. Scored 20 in a season? No. Was first on the teamsheet? No. Played consistently for more than 3-4 games? No. Great prospect? Yes! But no saviour! So get real about this guy. Don't put pressure on him - and don't tear him to ribbons when he does come back & can't live up to these ever-increasing expectations of him.

Somma has the best 1st touch of a football in this club! give him a season and he will bang in 20. You dont go and score the volley like he did against norwich with his technique. Quality player and i think you need to look back at the goals he scored in his 1st season in the championship! Its taken rosco a season to get it a right!

Grella went on loan to Swindon expected to play every game and didn't so he wasnt happy and cancelled his own loan, Obviously pissing Grayson off and then Grayson said right go to Motherwell that deal fell through cos of rules, Grayson then said go out on Loan to Bradford when grella blatently refused Grayson placed him with the under 18s and let him rot!!! Fair enough in my eyes.

Somma patiently bided his time with leeds he went on loan to Lincoln didnt think that he was too good or deserved a starting place and Grayson rewarded him by playing him,

Somma at one stage last season when he was getting played had a record of 1 goal every 81 minutes which was 8th best strike rate in the world just behind ronaldo, hes a great player and is unfortunate that he didnt suit our system last season but I think he has done everything possible to merit the term great player

So it looks like we have to convince a notoriously harsh tribunal that Robbie Rogers will make a huge impact on English football. It's not gonna happen.

Leeds18 even the videos of rogers on youtube look pretty poor!

his website makes it look like he concentrates more on his clothing line and partying than playing football,

Not too happy about the signing but i will give him my full backing on the pitch

Well it is now official we have signed him pending a permit. Snodgrass and Townsend where does this guy fit it? Out on loan until Townsend goes back?? I can't see a permit being granted...

We didn't need a winger, but we could have done with more competition and it would be pointless to pass up on that opportunity. It's not as if signing a winger on a free will stop us signing a defender or two.

Is he playing for free? I doubt it, so he will now get a wage which comes out of the budget and means we have less for the players of quality we actually need. We should be paying the required wages for the best players, not paying wages to another fecking winger who those who have watched him state that he is at best, average!
