    Agree WBA2-QPR3

And before i get the 'Correct posters' having a 'pop' at me i didn't start this thread, i am just replying, however
Paul Parker is correct in what he says about 'Foolham'. Our fans are a proper lot and not a bunch of 'Hugh Grant's' (that says it all). No crocodile tears from Lily Allen (at her first game). No 'Kiddie fiddler' Statues, no 100 fans at Sunderland, No tourist, No neutral end, no! We are a proper club with Proper fans .

I think our friends down the road just do not like all the attention our club is getting and thats why they are on our boards.
    Who really cares about Fulham?
No one ever talks about them and no one really cares.

All i have heard on TV,Radio seen in Papers, mags and stuff on the net has been about us and sadly those little muppets down the road don't like it.
Never mind, MH summed them up today by saying he wanted to join a club with ambition and he could not do that at 'Foolham'.

Historically Fulham always took more to Chelsea than QPR.

    ?
And what year was that? 80's 90's they weren't in the same division as Chelsea. In the 80'-90's lucky to see more than 50 away fans from Fulham.

QPR rarely filled more than two pens (sparsley) in the North Stand.

Fulham filled four on Boxing Day 76 (admittedly to see Best etc) in a 55k crowd.

They also brought a lot of chaps, 79/80 and 83, when they nearly went up.

QPR never brought that many fans.

That's so long ago you would have been in one of those four pens supporting Fulham wouldn't you.

Actually, you're not David Mellor are you?

I remember going to 'Slumford Bridge' 87/88 season and Rangers had 4 Pens and a few in that 'crumble bit' at the side. TBH LF i went to a Chelsea game that had about 14K back in the day. Now i am not knocking your gates or the hoards of plastics that have turned up since Roman but to use the term 'historically' and you mention 1-2 games is not really what i would say.

I have plenty of Fulham mates that went to games back then and they would tell you they had 50-100 away fans. I am not going to get into a debate about Fulham/QPR but will agree with what 'District' said in that our problem was getting relegated at the wrong time. Just when all the TV/money came in. I bet our club would look different if we hadn't but that's history.

One other thing about gates when we were in league One under Holloway we averaged 16K at home and would in many games see a good 1000-1500 at away games, would Fulham be able to do that? Think not and i doubt many other clubs would.

Foolham struggled to get 5,000 home gates in the 90s when they almost ended up in the Conference...

I've been going since I was a kid in the late 70s, and we regularly had between 15,000 and 20,000 back then and in the eighties. After that, as we started to struggle, the gates dropped as they do with most clubs.

Our last year in League two in 1997 saw gates of around 9,000, and that was around 12,000 when we were in League One, then between 15,000 and 19,000 in the Championship, which isn't much different to you lot last season.

As for Paul Parker, he's right - we do have a different mentality to QPR. We're not deluded enough to think we will be a big club, and we don't pay silly wages for average players.

As for Lily Allen, she's been going to Fulham since she was a kid - I remember seeing her old man down there when he first started appearing on TV in the 80s/early 90s, so she's from a Fulham family. For what it is worth, I even remember Hugh Grant admitting to being Fulham when he 1st became famous with that Four Weddings film - I even think he claimed to have done work experience at the Cottage!

The crumble bit was closed in 82 after the Spurs game so you had no fans there. The bit next to the crumble bit was open to Chelsea overflow fans if the Shed was full, ie full house 40k.

Four pens would equal 10k plus fans in the North Stand and a 40k attendance.

The attendance that day was 18,000.

The ONLY clubs to fill all four pens in the 80s were: Spurs 82, Boro 88, United 86, Liverpool 86

Fulham filled the away end in 76 when it held 15k including the crumble bit although there would have been a few thousand Chelsea in there too.

82/3 they filled three pens pretty full: 6/7000. Rangers have never even got close to those figures at the Bridge. MIlk Cup QF in the mid80s maybe 5000

In the late 70s, when the rest of Chelsea's skinhead mob were marauding away fans like their heroes in the Waffen-SS Das Reich Division, where was LondonsFinest? Was he seig-heiling down at the front with Hicky?

No, he was sat alone in the "crumble bit" with his thermos flasks and his fish paste sandwiches counting the away support for his attendances scrap book!

    Good Work!

Well i was at the game in 87/88 and i reckon we took (if my memory is correct) 5K+ and we did have four pens because i was in the forth and a few rangers fans were to my left in the crumbly bit.
I don't need to 'big it up' because i was their. <ok>

I'm glad I can't go to Newcastle on Sunday if thats what they give you.
    Shocking!
It will be like watching football from the top of Everest.

I remember going up there in 82, Keegan's debut.
At least we were right behind the goal in the Strawberry Road end then.

Wonder how long these so called foolham fans have been following the club as paul parker a foolham legend said qpr propper club fulham are not. Bet half the idiots think the club was founded by that crook al fayed and the statue is of an old manager lets be honest they could beat us everytime but it won't stop that club having no soul. Im sure if questioned they will give it the whole i was there on a cold tuesday night with 3000 others watching a home win over northampton the truth is that they can lie to us but they can't lie to themselves. The only good thing i can say about them is they ain't chelski

John chill it's just a bit of banter. Most of us think Foolham have done some good stuff in the Prem.
    <ok>
But a Michael Jackson statue is a bit weird.

Only decent thing they've done in the Prem is playing at Loftus Road <laugh>

That statue ends all arguement, no comeback from that.

As i said yesterday Fulham took a bashing yesterday.
First was Paul Parkers comments about proper fans and proper club
Then MH saying they had no ambition.

You can see why they are upset.
