In that case it'd be our own fault and we'd deserve to lose the case. Though again i'd assume we're not daft enough to take legal advice knowing we were going to ignore it if they don't tell us what we'd like to hear! Unless we just wanted to be prepared for the future knowing that paying off 2 years of £27k pw (or whatever contract he'd get knowing he'd sign for somebody) was cheaper than 2 years of £45k pw. Either way we've profited in the long term i suppose.
I do wish you'd give up the assumptions or at least stop making them sound as though you have some sort of inside knowledge. Don't get me wrong you're probably right but none of us actually know the Allams personally Though strangely enough my mother and aunt know his daughter quite well and that's the impression they've always said they get from him. The no nonsense approach.
No, but I often bump into people who say they were at school with me and I don't remember them either.
I have no inside knowledge of the Allams at all apart from whats in the public domain. But his interviews on the subject are quite matter-of-fact. It would be of massive seismic proportions if the Allams had dropped a clanger over Bullard. I just dont see it. The feelings from some that Bullard could win is a strange one. Thats all. The approach that Papa Allam is taking over Bullard is both refreshing and much needed. I bet he has much support from many other club owners even if the FA and PFA are a worried lot.
Again, what leads you to believe this? I'm not having a go mate it's just a bit frustrating for me, feel free to tell me to mind my own and jog on
No mate. Its called debate which is good. Well i feel Hull City will be watched and viewed over this case as there are i assume other clubs with similar player problems. I remember when Bosman was told he had no chance of winning his case as the ramifications to the game would be extreme. Now look what we have. So IF City win the door opens to other clubs to do the same. Its long overdue that players should be sacked like us mere mortals. The fact that footballers have been fireproof for so long is a disgrace. imo.
I was responding to a post making an assumption that we'd be out of pocket if we'd ****ed up and lost the case. Before we sacked him we were going to be paying £45k/wk for nearly two years. After sacking him the fact he's got a contract at Ipswich now means worst case scenario we're liable for £27k a week for the same length of time. If I'd been the club handling the disciplinary, knowing he was wanted by Ipswich and that he'd max what he earnt from them in case he lost his case I'd be quite happy to "**** up" and save the club at least £18k/wk on him.
Hopefully so, just think people should look at it as a no lose situation because whatever happens we should be better off financially than would have been had we not sacked him so it's just the margin of success that's being considered.
HDM Bullard article. I didn't realise how fare this had slipped back before I closed the others. JIMMY Bullard is claiming £2.5m in compensation following his sacking last August, the club accounts confirm. It is the first time an official figure has been confirmed for the case, relating to the Tigers terminating Bullard's contract following an incident at the club's pre-season training camp in Slovenia. Claim: Jimmy Bullard The 33-year-old had two years left on his deal and is seeking to secure the payout, with a recent hearing held to consider the grounds of his appeal. However, City's accounts say the club are "of the opinion that the company has a valid defence" to his claim.
I'm not getting at you personally DMD (for closing the other threads) I just think in principle threads shouldn't be closed unless they breach forum rules. At the end of the day posters should be the judge of what they want to discuss.
Seems like the answer is to merge similar threads; and only kill threads if they are obnoxious/time-wasting/WUM ones?
That said ^^^^^^^, I think it was legit to start a thread based on the revelation, by the Fail, of the accounts and hence JB's £2.5m.
